Question about Toshiba Portege M205-S810 Tablet PC
You may also want to see if this is your TOSHIBA gyroscope.
Toshiba tablet models have an internal gyroscope that can sense if the talbet is held vertically, horizontally, is being flipped, etc. They have software to use such motions (but by default are turned off).
If the sound is coming from the screen, it is most likely the gyroscope. It sounds similar to a light saber effect from the "Star Wars" movies.

Back up your drive and replace it. Mine did a similar thing and I went to degragment it and it turned into toast. Humming (or more like a hissing) is frequently due to a bad capacitor, but that wouldn't likely be coming from your hard drive. Any unusual hard drive noise means you'll be replacing it soon.
