Thanks. Have done all that this past week. Everyone seems to have the same approach. Upgrade the firmware - which is not working in my specific case.

    Happy Easter.

SRX200 keeps rebooting itself for the last month or more. Read where SP3 may be the culprit, but that doesn't make sense to me.

Served me well for several years. Guess it's just gotten old...time for a new one. Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Bill

Just try the below note if the firmware update not helpful. open the device, you can see one capacitor 1000mF/6v (called Filter capacitor for 5v supply). just replace the capacitor with new. restarting could be the problem with the power supply section inside the router. regards, Rejeesh

Seems like this is a problem with this model, try the following: Upgrade the firmware of your router: ► you may find the exact model number and version number underneath the router itself on one of the stickers. If it's a WRT54G v5 upgrade the firmware, make sure the firmware version is 1.00.9 and above. To find the firmware version: ► open up internet explorer ► on the address bar type in the numbers 192.168.1.1 ( username just leave it blank, password as a default is admin) ► go to the status page: look for the firmware version To download the firmware: ► go to www.linksys.com/downloads ► search for your product model number and version the list ► click on downloads for this product ► firmware ► download firmware ► usually the file you download is a zip file so extract the contents 1st To upgrade the firmware: ► go back to the 192.168.1.1 page ► go to administration ► firmware upgrade ► browse for the files you extracted and use the file that ends with a us_code.bin ► and then just upgrade Then reset the router for 30 seconds and voila ur done with the upgrade! here is Linksys' 2nd level T/S phone# 18668705819 If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I cannot connect my router from my laptop so I can print. This problem just occured the last couple days.

1. Will your computer see other wireless systems - if not, check the settings on your wireless card to ensure that it is turned on. Do other computers, tablets, or phones see the router?

2. Take a CAT 5 cable and connect the laptop to the router and connect the laptop and make sure you have hard wire connectivity.

Open the device manager, and check the wireless card drivers for any updates and that it is operational.

Open the router settings and check for any problems. Not the gateway address and IP addresses of any other devices.

3. Disconnect and reboot the computer, and try to log onto the wireless. Ensure you have the password handy. Use IPCONFIG from the CMD application to see what your wireless IP address is.

You will then have to make adjustments to the network card through the device manager.

Good luck,

Printer intermittently goes offline, will come back at random. Restart does not bring it back online. It will come back online at random, no set period of time. May be online for days, or off for days. I...

I suggest that you investigate the router. You did not specify how the printer was connected, often wireless is an issue, if you are wireless, change the channel to 11. Many land line cordless phones, with the extended range, interfere on most router default channels.

The restart of the router is a pretty large clue, also connections in and out are suspect.

WRT54G2 wired desktop fine, can't connect to wireless.

Hi Seth6025,

Try without using Wireless Encryption (password).

Try changing channels; default is 6; try 1 or 11.
Change your SSID: personalize it
SSID broadcast: Enable

Check the advanced wireless settings and make sure MAC filtering - DISABLED.

Reset the Linksys router by pressing RESET for 30 seconds should everything fails and re-configure. Firmware is another consideration BUT this is just a new release.

Angel

D-Link Xtreme N DIR-655 Wireless Router doing backup to a usb device local to pc works perfectly every time, but same USB device on router, after several gig errors out with "delayed write failed"

This seem to me to be
the USB device that is being used is the issue.
1. firmware update may be required for the Router.
2.The error is related to the USB device.
3. Check the faqs for this router for further reference.
4. data progress may be halted due to the connection procedure used.

Thomson TG585v7 keeps rebooting periodically. This happens approx. three to four times a day

Thomson Router rebooting - I am in N.Z. and have the exact same Thomson Wireless Router, TG585v7, Software version 7.4.2.7. My previous D-Link Wireless router never gave me any trouble, as soon as I installed the Thomson, I kept losing connectivity. I could watch it rebooting in front of me, all lights off, restart and reconnect. I complained to my ISP who sent me another - exactly same problem. We were away for a week and it never rebooted once. I started wondering about Wifi devices , we use an HP Ipaq (it won't connect at all to the Thomson but will to other Acess Points) - have turned Ipaq off for days on end to eliminate but Router still rebooting several times a day. My wife has an Apple IPod and it seems "perhaps" it's when that is charging that we have problems. We are working through that isolation now, I'd be interested to know if you have other wireless enabled equipment - could even be a neighbour's unit interfering.

Cheers

I own a HP DV9000 my wireless quit working

Check the Device Manager to see if the Wireless LAN device is working and enabled. If not reinstall the Wireless LAN driver.
If the Wireless LAN is OK and enabled then sometimes when you bootup the Wireless LAN card doesn't get an IP address from the wireless router. This usually has a red X on the wireless connection icon and sometime you get an error message "Limited or no connection".
To get the router to issue the wireless LAN card with a new IP address, righr click on the Wireless icon and click on Repair.
You can also power down the router wait 15secs and power up the router again then reboot the computer.
If it still doesn't work you could have a faulty wireless card, see it your friendly computer shop can test it for you.

Draytek Vigor 2600we

I do not have one of these devices however from the specs it is a combination DSL modem / Router that supports both wired connections to 4 ethernet ports as well as wireless connections. This device has configuration options that apply to the ISP side as well as the wireless side that could be causing issues. Lets try eliminating the wireless issues first. Do you have a computer with an ethernet port for a wired connection. If so attempt to connect to the internet using a wire to the ports on the wireless router. If this works we are assured the ISP connections and configuration are correct. If not I would suggest working with your ISP to get this working first. If this does work the next step will be to review the wireless configuration. If you got this new or from your ISP these settings may be known. However if you bought this used we may have some discovery to make this work. However we can address that after we determine the solution to the above issues.

Attempting to connect new AT&T Tilt phone to router causes internet crash

Well... That's an interesting problem.

Try changing the wireless channel that your router is running on via the web interface in the router. See what happens when you try to connect the "Tilt" then.

If that doesn't work, then find out if the Tilt is running on 802.11b or 802.11g. Disconnect all wireless devices from the router and change the router's Wireless standard to either B or G ONLY. (Whichever the phone is.) Connect the Tilt again without any other devices connected to the router. See if it reboots again.

Those are basics for now. I've never tried connecting a phone to a router like that before. Otherwise I would definitely contact your provider and ask them about it. Given that the WRT54G is the most common consumer-level NAT router on the market, they are sure to be having issues with it where other customers are concerned.

Unless another wireless device you have is causing the issue. But that is what you are trying to pinpoint with the above procedures.

Give it a go and see what happens.
