How do I get my lg waveforce WT5001C washer to turn on? The power went off and now the washer lid is locked shut and none of the lights are on. I checked the wall plug and it is fine.

If your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check these:

No power
Lid switch
No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped?

Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.

most likely a Door Lock error. means that the door lock is not working. fairly easy replacement if necessary. might check the lock first to make sure it has connector plugged into it. and that nothing is jammed inside of it. good repair videos at repairclinic.com and appliancepartspros.com or online at youtube.com

LG issued a recall on certain waveforce washers due to the unbalanced error codes. You may have a washer that is affected. Contact LG at 855-400-4639, and have you model number and serial number at hand to see if you need a software update.

The LE error or fault code indicates that the washer motor is either overheating or has lost connection to the motor control circuit board. Turn off the machine for 30 minutes to let the motor cool down. Then, restart the washer. If the code comes back immediately the motor is not likely to be at fault and so you should check the wiring from the motor to the motor control board. Also, check the wiring and condition of the rotor position sensor, also called a HALL sensor. If the code doesn't come back on immediately, but returns after the washer has run for a while, the motor stator may be defective
The tub bearing also appears to be part of the problem.

this is a fault in the motor controller fault. the fault code number is 140. it may have a problem with the motor windings / RPS also. you will need parts from F+P.

New drain pump may be needed

If it is just coins, I wouldn't bother. However, depending on the age and or unexpired warranty, I wouldn't jeopardise the warranty.
It could be the agitator's transmission, which if it is under warranty
should be fixed by the MFG. If out of warranty, unless you are a DIY, you need to call appliance service people. Ask the approximate price for repair. Depending on the age, it may be time to look for a lightly used replacement.

dE indicates a door lock error. Turn off and then unplug the washer to reset the machine. Press and hold the Start/Pause button button for 5-10 seconds. Connect the power cord. Turn on the washer. Open and close the lid to see if it closes properly. Try to run the washer through a cycle.

On some LG top-loading machines, the error is simple to fix. These LG top loaders used a magnet in the front of the lid that to be in place to trigger the lock. When the magnet breaks off or is misplaced, the dE error will occur. If you find the magnet in the washer, replace it in the lid. If you don't see the magnet, get another one. Keep the magnet in place with duct tape.

On other LG washers, the problem is the door not being aligned with the lock, the lock assembly or the electronic control not getting the lock message. Make sure that the lid is closing properly. Bent hinges can cause the issue. Check the latch assembly and the wiring between the latch and the control board. To check the latch assembly, you may need to remove it from the washer. Check the circuit with a multi-meter to ensure that the switch gets power. Replace either if faulty. If the latch assembly and wiring are good, then the control board may need to be replaced.

Hiya,
in most cases of a none responcive machine after intalation many people forget to turn the water tapes back on after conecting the machine this will stop it in its tracks so i would surgest double checking you have returned the water connectors to the on posistion, unpluging the machine for a few mins should reset the programme.
