Pioneer DVR-5100H : CPRM error after changing DVD drive

Hello, In my Pioneer DVR-5100H, the DVD drive has failed, and I changed it. The DVD drive no works perfect, but there is an CPRM error displayed at startup, and there is no way to access to the hard drive. I didn't touch or manipulated the HDD. I think there is a configuration information in the HDD that was not changed, while the hardware was. Is there any way to repair this, and retrieve the data ? thanks.

I've never fiddled with this dvr but i belive there is a service cd you can download if you search around. Not sure it will help but i guess it's a start.

My pioneer dvr-k17b ata device failed instalation error code 39 could not load driver

1) uninstall your dvr from device manager
2) write REGEDIT at RUN
3) look for UPPERFILTER using search in the edit menu. After you have found it, delete this registry
4) repeat the same for LOWERFILTER
5) Go to the device manager, scan for hardware changes. Win Vista will now successfully install your DVR

Not sure which code you mean. If you are talking about the region code, you need to use the service remote, which is available only to dealers. However, you can do a search and find that there is a company in UK that will rent you a service remote for this purpose. Be prepared to pay up to $50 for this service.

Good luck

Digital audio problems

Try using a different cable for starters, regular rca, another optical or coaxial. If the optical works, then its a cable problem. If the coaxial works(and another optical doesnt), then its a cable/jack problem. If the RCA works(and the rest don't), then its a problem with the digital output. Try blowing into the holes, and if nothing works and you can't find any other advice, contact Pioneer. Good luck
