40" Westinghouse LTV-40W1 HDC

TV will power on..screen is opaque and will play DVD with sound. Keypad and remote will change between input modes, but no display of menu or picture at all! The screen is backlit...does anyone know where to start with this problem? Visually inspected boards and no signs of burn or surges...all help is appreciated.

You need a T-con Board and I have that one for $80.00.
I reclaim working components for TV damaged in shipping or returned for other reasons. Simple repair for any body with a Philips screwdriver. NO special tools needed.

Dvd-password

The TV is rating protected or parental code for movies that are of a type not permitted on TV. Someone most likely set a code to screw with you. If you tried 0000 and 1234 with no luck. You may be able to find the factory rest or set to default that could clear all codes and wipe the channel scan... so you would need to rescan. Ask around to see if the boss set a code to keep prorn off the TV.
