Question about Bosch 24 in. SHU66C02 / SHU66C06 Built-in Dishwasher
Hello, When I start the dishwasher the unit makes a funny loud noise. Something turns on and it sounds something like air and maybe a little water being sucked down a tube. This last for just a few seconds then stops. The unit seems to work fine and quit after this initial noise stops, dishes are clean and dry at the cycle end. I have also heard this same noise at the end of a cycle too. Any ideas? Thanks, Homefixitguy
After 5 years, my Bosch just started making noises, which appeared to come when the water extraction pump was active. I cleaned everything, put a cup of vinegar in the bottom, left it for about 10 minutes and then started a rinse cycle. That seemed to cure the noise. I'm guessing some calcium buildup was the problem since we live in a hard water area.

Pour 1 cup of vegetable oil into the dishwasher drain at the end of the dishwashing cycle. Then finish the cycle. The noise should stop.

My dishwasher started making a load noise last night found out it was the pump . It was a easy fix to access the pump you need to remove the outer side of the door and the bottom cover .then you can see the pump .to remove it you need to remove the clear hose in front of it .it just pulls out of the tank sealed by a o-ring move it out of the way next unplug the wires to the pump .then you will see a plastic clip on top the pump just push the clip and turn the pump clock wise about a half turn and pull it out replace new one make. sure you get all the water out off the bottom tray before running theres a swicth that will keep the pump running if leak

To access the pump, first bail and sponge out any water in the machine's tub. Then tip the machine over on its front, using a heavy blanket or pad to protect the washer's finish. Remove the back service panel. The pump is attached to the motor and located beneath the dishwasher. Good luck!

It just the pump noise. Since your dishwasher works properly you can ignore this noise.
