Most TVs have several input selections on the back so you don't have to go thru the cable box. Look thru your TV owners guide for the best choice

Can't record from Cable DVR

Here is a diagram of an option for you to hook up a cable box, to a VCR, then a TV. I took out all the other things and kept it simple. You can always hook up more later. The cable should go straight into the DVR as it is, then hook the yellow A/V cables from the DVR/cable box output to the VCR input then anther set of A/V cables from the VCR out to the AV1 on your television.

You will have to select the A/V input on the Go Video, then you should be able to see a picture. The only drawback on this option. You will have to watch what you record.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Recording from cable dvr

You have to hook up an AV cable from the box to the DVDR.. Out on the cable box to IN on the DVD player.
Then put your DVD player on AV1 - ( you can do this by pressing the INPUT SEL button on the DVDR remote)

Then put the Cable box on whatever channel you want to record. And press the record button on the DVDR and you will record whatever channel the cable box is on

If you can't get to AV1 then you have to disable cable box control (menu>setup>system>cable box control>off

How Do I hook up my Sanyo DVW -7000 To my Dishnetwork Box to record?

Connect the "Out to TV"video and audio on the DVR box to the "Video in and Audio In" on the VCR ...unless it's a single screw type connector on the DVR then hook THAT to the "In from ANT/cable" on the VCR
