I am trying to play a ''zone 2'' original movie OR see burned Cd with Jpeg pictures on but I get an errror message saying ''unknown disc'' from the LG rc-288
From what i understand about your device this is a common problem. (as it seems to be a relatively cheap model)
Errors leading to this symptom range from
1) A dirty lens (google "How do i clean my drive lens?")
2) A damaged or worn out laser (either return it to the place you bought it (most places even once its out of warranty will replace a product if you express how dissatisfied you are the product crapped out just by normal means of use (not user abuse) in such a short time (lie about age if you have to lol). (if asked to produce the receipt say it was a gift)(those who say this is unethical should take a look @ how manufacturers design products to break on purpose)
3) I saw a reference to returning the device to LG itself if the retailer wont give in. (harder to do as they generally want a warranty) (however they may have a repair department)
(Infact HERE is the website to find the closest LG service center to you :)
Here is your models user manual i will skim through it to find your error in trouble shooting (hopefully)
(Note Manual is missing pages 35+ (the troubleshooting section and some playback pages?)
NOTE in order to view this manual you will need a PDF file viewer/reader. If you do not have Adobe (the most prolific one usually comes with your computers already installed software but can be lost due to reformatting and not having the software disc) you can obtain a freeware program called
