This happens a lot during bore sighting, - no shock to the scope to jar the cross hairs. So take your screwdriver and use the handle - rap the scope or better just tap it. Not hard enough to bend/dent it but jar it so things can move if need to.
this is not uncomon jack up the frount of the scope with a fuw strips of 35mm film if you can this will lower the point of aim a lot at 100yds,,,you may need to let off the screws and fit a thin washer/s under the scope to lift the frount up
I think I have the same exact problem. I've found that I can focus it at about 16.5 ft, but only when I make the projection about as small as I can make it. It doesn't feel like the dial can rotate far enough to focus. If you figure it out, please let me know.
It's a common misconception that you are moving the bullet's impact on the target... the bullet is hitting where the rifle is pointing and you want to get the scope to look at that very same spot. To move the scope's reticle up or down, turn the elevation adjustment on the TOP of the scope in the direction you want the scope to look, so if your shooting low, turn the scope's adjustment in the DOWN direction. If you want to move the direction the scope is looking left or right, turn the windage adjustment on the RIGHT side of the scope left or right to look where the bullet is impacting. To move the crosshairs to the right, turn it right. Hope this helps, Mark the Gunsmith
check the rubber piece of the coupling and make sure it is a little loose (moves a little), if the plastic pieces are not far enough onto the motor shaft and transmission shaft then the coupling will be pinched and will make a burnt rubber smell.
