- This comment is very bhelpkul but as I am not able to repair it myself it seems useless,
the cost of bringing in repair engineers is prohibitive so we are going to scrape it and buy new! Thanks antway
I do not know the Kenwood dishwasher, hence I do not know what the E3 error is, but many dishwashers require a sustained pressure of at least 30 psi.
Can you please post the model number of your Kenwood dishwasher?

- Thanks for the reply. So, with this information about the error code provided, the most common problem is a failed heating element Which lives in the sump area beneath the lower spray arm.
If this dishwasher is several years old, it is not surprising that element has failed and you may be able to feel the breakage of this circle of dark rod with your hands after you have pulled the lower basket out of the dishwasher. It may be broken clear through, it may have "bumpy feel. The other way the heating element can fail is underneath the dishwasher where the heavy guage wires attach to the element outside the wash compartment.
It is also possible, but not probable that the "thermister" has failed. That is the device that senses the temperature of the compartment during the water heating and drying cycles.
If you post the model number of the dishwasher bak here, we can point you towards the part number(s) you may need.
Good Luck.
In my dishwasher I had a cycle couple of e3 followed by e4 took of the right hand panel and hence the situation.
Water had leaked onto the temperature sensor and caused a e3 mailfunktion additional water caused the e4 overflow to trip. So somewhere a broken pipe leaking water into the machine.
Solution
Turn of power remove right hand panel e.g. panel where the draining pump is. Drain all water from bottom plate by tilting the machine to the right hand site. Before you do this lay a absorbing cloth underneath. Now switch the power and machine on short cycle DONT TOUCH ANYTHING do you see any leaks if so replace part. Temp sensor might be damaged order new ( ebay )
replace broken hose with new one.
All this under your own responsibility warranty void and be always very carefull off electric shock.

I have a bosch dishwasher that has started to work infrequently, the red water light keeps coming on. I have checked the water pump this is ok. Having read previous peoples comment, I think my problem is the float is stuck, because if I tilt the machine a little it works again for a very short time. My question is, where is the float and how do you free it.
