We have a GE xl44 oven. It's about 6 years old, and has a problem with an F2 code. When the oven is off, it will start beeping and displaying F2, which apparently means that the oven is too hot (though the oven itself is off). In addition, the oven has periodic problems holding temperature. I ordered and just replaced the oven temperature sensor (per guidance from this site and others...), but when we left for the evening and got back home, we found it was beeping and displaying F2 again. We had this same problem a couple of years back, and has a repairman out. He replaced the control panel and the sensor, but it was really expensive. I'd like to avoid the expense of bringing him out here again - am I best off ordering a new control panel and is this something that I can replace myself? Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.
-   F2 alarm goes off on an intermittent basis about once every two weeks when the oven is not being used. Sometimes when we get up in the morning it is going off, sometimes in the middle of the day, this thing is wacky. It takes four or five attempts to "clear" it.-   eman3531

-   F2 error alarm goes off regularly when we are baking. We cut the electric circuit to stove and turn it back on in 5 minutes and it usually works but it is happening more often. Any suggestions on what the problem is?-   piemaker

I have had power surges and now my GE Spectra stove, is displaying a FFF code. I did try to reset the breaker but that did not help. Anything else I can do? My stove is about 10 years old so I think the model listed below is newer. Thanks
