Campbell Hausfeld FP209501 - how do I check if my pressure switch is bad? My air compressor won't build any air.

THE COPPER LINE IS SUPPOSED TO GET HOT, SCALDING HOT ACTUALLY. THE MOST COMMON REASON FOR COMPRESSORS NOT BUILDING PRESSURE IS CLOGGED AIR FILTER OR THE VALVES IN THE HEAD ARE BROKEN OR NOT OPENING AND CLOSING CORRECTLY. YOU MAY POSSIBLY HAVE A BAD AIR LEAK DOWNSTREAM BUT YOU CAN CLOSE THE DISCHARGE VALVE ON THE TANK TO ELIMINATE THAT PROBLEM. HOPE THIS HELPS OR GET YOU STARTED.

Either the pop off valve is bad or the regulator...Also check for leaks in hoses going to tanks.

The spray gun consumes more air volume than the compressor can deliver. You can pause painting periodically to allow the compressor to 'catch-up' or buy a larger delivered-volume compressor. The compressor that you have was intended to supply air for pneumatic nailers and staplers in an intermittent fashion. Hope this helps!
