Most bathtubs have a low water sensor on the wall of the tub and the water has to be above that in order for the motor to operate.

Kenmore washer top load model 110.24952300 Type 111 Fills but wont start. Motor buzz. Replaced old motor which was locked up. New motor installed, still wont start agitation. Still buzzing.

You have what they call a direct drive washer. If you look at it from underneath you will see the motor then the transmission and then the water pump. I have seen socks get sucked into those pumps and lock everything up. Two clips hold the water pump onto the transmission. Pop the two clips off and slide the pump off of the transmission and tuck it out of the way somewhere. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE HOSES! If you do and the tub is full of water then you will soak yourself and the floor in water. Now with the pump tied out of the way plug in the washer and turn it on, let it fill up if it is empty. If the washer tub starts agitating after it is filled then it means that there is something in the pump. When I have those pumps fail they still work but just leak, they never locked up on me unless it was a sock or something. Drain the water if you determine it is the pump, remove the pump and see if there is a sock in it and if you can fish it out. If not buy a new pump. They are $30-40. They usually clog from overfilling the washer and the clothing slips between the inner and outer tub.

If removing the pump doesn't allow the washer to work then the transmission is suspect or the tub itself.

My husband installed a belt in our Maytag washer model #sav205daww. when I went to use it it filled with water and didn't stop, it overflowed. Any ideas what might be wrong?

He could have pulled the small hose off that connects to the water level switch.
Or sediment could have shifted when he tilted the tub. Check that hose for secure connection and blow threw it to move the sediment and then pump out the water so that the pressure can build once again from the water level switch down to the base of the tub. themobilian_2693.jpg

Set the waterlevel to large load and the water spilled over the drum. The water did not stop automatically. Tried medium load and the same happened. Can you please help?

Your pressure switch is either bad or the line from the bottom of the tub is plugged and the machine has no idea how much water it is putting in. The pressure switch is located on the inside of the control panel, it should look something like the picture below, the tube that runs to the switch from the tub can be taken off and you can blow through it to clear it of any pluggage if it is not plugged the the switch is bad and needs replaced. Are you sure your water valves are working OK, I assumed so because you didn't mention that the water wont turn off. dcramer531_126.jpg

We bought a used hot tub. Basically have replaced everything under it including new spa pack and installed a 50 amp breaker for it. When we have both motors plugged in it will throw a breaker. Can someone...

if the breaker was designed for hot tub use, it contains a ground fault interrupt mechanism to trip the breaker if there is a short in the circuit. This is to prevent electrocution if you're sitting in the tub and a wire happens to short to the water. It could be that there is a short in the circuit, causing this mechanism to trip. If you can try each motor individually and the problem follows one rather than the other, it may be that a motor is damaged and is exposed to water.

If this problem only occurs when both motors are up and running, it could be something between the two. Either way, the solution might be to take an ohmmeter to the motor. First check for continuity across the motor (there should be continutiy there) and then test to see if there is continuity from the motor to the water (there shouldn't be there).

Kohler rite temp with diverter. When the tub is turned on water leaks out the shower head. Changed the diverter didn't fix problem.

You could have a restriction in the tub spout or just too much pressure. Diverter only restricts flow to tub spout so any restrictions to the tub spout will cause water to go up to shower head.

NOTHING TURNS ON, PLUG IS OK SAID ELECTRICAN

If you have plugged the tub into another outlet and the jets work fine, it is not a control module problem. The tub should be plugged into a gfci outlet. If it is, there may be a reset switch on the plug it is plugged into, or there may be a switch somewhere else in your bathroom that has the reset switch on it. You can buy a tester for about $3 or $4 that plugs into your outlet to test if it has power. Hope this helps.
