Generic problem for all Kitchen Ranges
Smoke from oven
have just repaced fan oven ellement on smeg a42 range main oven and all has been well for last two days. turned oven on today and after 5 mins cloud of smoke apeared over cooker. pulled back of and no apperant fire damageg but when switched back on main oven fan does not work? olso the main oven cooling fan has been playing up would this affect any thing? smeg charge 65 p/h so any help

- I turn the oven on and an electric smell and some smoke coming from behind the oven. Pulled out oven and coming from vent behind control panel. Doesn't happen when the burniers are on...only oven. Same model 5 years old. - cschrageSolution #1

I am a recently retired appliance engineer of 20 years
sounds like pure coincidence, check the fan for circuit at terminals, and / or check for movement of blades, that you have not got fan jammed, replace fan motor unit if needed, still cheaper than a call out
