If your can see the bug chances are its either on the crt lenses or on the tube assy, remove rear panel and inspect to see if the tube can be cleaned with a dampend cloth make sue the set is off.

run you fingers anound the sides of the screen and see f there are inserts that can be remoned if not you must remove upper section of screen for rear,(scews) pay attention to control buttons and harnesses mounted at the front, also try removing the lower front panel first to see if ther are any hidden screws that need to be removed .ps if your gona handle the screen assy put on a pair of latex gloves to prevent finger prints on inner screen.

Why do i have dark smudges on my tv

Usually that is actually dust that has gotten in behind the lcd screen. The dust congregates on top of the tv and eventually falls in through the air grids. Im not to sure how to rectify this without opening the tv up not something I would recommend and can break your warranty.

My Mitsubishi TV has a small white dot on the screen

This could be something on the lens or mirrors. you can open one or both porthole covers on the left or right side of TV to determine if this is the cause. You can look at the mirrors & lens to determine if a bug or dust has gotten on either part. Then clean.

HOWEVER, the most likely cause is the DLP chip. this causes white & or black dots. May start out as one or two, then multiply.

See the following website for the proper DLP chip for your Mitsubishi model#:

An insect has gotten inside the television and is throwing a shadow on the screen

This is not the easiest set to get into where you could clean out behind the screen. I would suggest having a technician look at it to save from damaging the TV.

Bug behind plastic screen cover and loose right side movement

Sadly the entire system needs to be taken apart. There is going to be at least 15 screws to remove and you need to move with surgical precision.

Thanks, Frank

How to clean inside of screen?

Your tv has two screens on it. The outter screen and the inner screen. The outter screen has a frame around it held on by clips. You can remove this outter screen by gently prying it from the tv. There is a small gape between the outter screen and the tv casing. When prying the outter screen be carefull not to dsanage the tv case or the outter screen frame. Take note of the location of each clips because you will need thses to put the outter screen back on. Clean with a good gentle screen cleaner, (Do Not Use Windex). Philips screen cleaning gel for plasma & LCD works very good. Install the outter screen back on the tv by making sure the clips line up and use light pressure to snap it back in place. Do Not Hit Outter Screen To Force Clips Into Place.. I do this on my tv about once every 6 months or so.
