Next thing I would check is the memory. If the unit has more then one memory dimm, take one out and see if it starts, if it does not, try the second one.
Also, a bad fan could have caused the unit to overheat. Did you have shutdown problems before it completely quit?Next thing I would check is the memory. If the unit has more then one memory dimm, take one out and see if it starts, if it does not, try the second one.

Your DC connector may be loose . Wiggle the AC adapter connector at the back of the laptop. If it moves alot, then the connector is loose from the system board. That would cause the unit not top power up or recharge the battery. Common problem with laptops.Your DC connector may be loose . Wiggle the AC adapter connector at the back of the laptop. Hi there,
1st : you can check from the power cable charge
2nd : check the adaptor charger if there is a light indicator or not, or you can check with multimeter to check the voltage on charger adaptor, does show the proper voltage for your laptop, you can check at the end of the connection that leads to the laptop.
note : Remember use DC current at Multimeter
3rd : if the adaptor running well, just plug on the adaptor charger to the laptop, dont turn on the laptop power, just see the light indicator with battery / lightning image on laptop, its explained that there is or is not the power current running to the laptop.
3rd.A : if its no power goes to the laptop then your adaptor charger is failed
3rd.B : if is there, there must be a problem with your motherboard, section power / power plugs, why do not want to charge with a new battery.
Conclusion :
- if the problem on number 1 & 2, then you can change the power cord and the adaptor charger.
- if there is problem on the 3rd.B then you can go to the toshiba services center for your problem.
Okay, what does that light indicate? (hard drive activity, power plugged in, battery, etc). It most likely indicates a faulty power supply or damaged battery unit.
first try to check if your toshiba is still part of the warranty. if this is good, much better to go to the service center and they will replace the battery pack of your laptop.
To answer your question Its "yes". wrong power/ampere rating can shorten the battery life. I recommend that once you replace the battery include the AC adapter. Thanks
Unplug your projector from the power source. Hold down the On/Standby button and the Menu buttons at the same time and plug the power back in as you are holding them down. This will reset the lamp hours used and should remove that message.
It's quite possible that the battery was not replaced correctly. Many of them are quite sensitive to proper replacement. Remove it again and carefully inspect the metal contact areas on the battery and inside the laptop to determine if any got moved out of place or damaged. Check your Manual for correct insertion of the battery and carefully put it back in as indicated in the manual. It Must completely click into place and be aligned properly so all of the contacts meet. The edges of the battery should be smooth along the laptop case and fit as one.
