Remote sends tv crazy

The volume controller may have been damaged from a power surge or internal disturbance; not related to the a remote control. Your TV has a set of External Out connections, usually RCA jacks colored RED White and/or Black. Red and White jacks are relative to Right and Left Speakers when an attached cord with RCA male connectors are used and connected to an Amp or some type of receiver. You should be able to use the TV OUT Audio to a small Amplifier and connect to a set of inexpensive speakers or any external speaker set. This method bypasses the TV's Internal speaker system as an alternative measure.

I have a DELL Dimension 5100. It is about 4 years old. All at once the speakers quit operating, no sound at all. Where do I look for the problem? THANKS.... C. N. Edwards, Jonesborough, TN....

Pleas check the following

1. check connecting a headphone to the computer and see if you get sound from the computer
2. check connecting your speakers to another sound source like a ipod / MP3 player etc
3. try playing different audio / video to confirm
4. check speaker / sound icon in the bottom right corner of your screen - click on it, see if mute is checked or volume level is lowered.
5. if the above steps do not work you have to right click on the my computer icon, click on manage and click on device manager on the left side, if you see any thing that tells you other devices with audio devices under it or any sound related device with a exclamation mark then you have to downlod the latest driver from

Logitech z-2300 one speaker works the port is broken i tried both speakers work but not the ports, help please

I have heard of this problem a lot and most people say its the remote that makes this happen. I recommend talking to the logitech tech support or buying a new remote off craigslist or ebay or someplace like that if you are willing to pay some money for one. That's all i can think of so i hope that helps.

Hi sir i have compeq 610 laptop .tell me it has

Hi lalit kumar. If both the speakers worked OK at first and not now then something has changed.
1. Check that the speakers are actually still set up to make sound out of both and not just one.If you open control panel > sound there is tabs that you can look at for sound settings.
2. VLC media player has its own settings for "adjustments and effects" You may have set these up in a way that is making the sound only appear to be out of one speaker. Set them to DEFAULT

I have a problem with Harman/Kardon Soundsticks. The subwoofer started humming, and I let it go for a few months. Finally, I noticed something power-related break down (I can't remember if I smelled...

Do not be in a hurry. First open it up to check the capacitors. If you are getting a funny smell then I am sure it is a busted capacitor. You will find some wax around it. Ir if it is not burst then a bulged one would be there. Just replace these with exactly the same specs. If there are no capacitors to be replaced then it could be the power adaptor as you are suggesting. Replace it as these things can not be repaired economically.

Scratchy noise?

Are the speakers old? The only thing that can make a random scratchy noise on the speakers as far as I know is a dirty volume knob. Try turning it all the way up and all the way down (with nothing playing) and see if that helps. If it does, blow them out with some compressed air. I'm thinking your issue is probably software / driver related though, does the scratchiness happen in other programs? WinAmp? Windows Media Player? .. if it does, you've narrowed it down to a driver-related issue, go to your sound hardware's manufacturer website and download the latest drivers.
