Knocking noise My Whirlpool is actually S20DFSS10-A/G Everything seems to be functioning just fine but there is a knocking noise from the rear bottom right when the fridge is (don't know the terminology) booting the temp ? doing whatever fridges do periodically. The noise literally sounds like knuckles rapping on wood. I took off the rear panel and the noise is coming from a white box on the bottom right and the label on this box reads as follows. ITW ISPRACONTOLS ITAL Lot 22223 BZATS 1804 220-240 volts CU 6000000 461950234812B All local refrigeration repair companies have quoted me £50 callout plus parts and labour but warn me that it will almost certainly be a total cost of in excess of £250 !!! The machine is just 2 years old, I guess I'd just like confirmation from someone that the above quotes sound reasonable and I'm not being taken advantage of for something that might be very simply cured. Any help will be gratefully received Thank You

I have Solved this Problem in my S2OD RBB32-A/G Whirlpool Refrigerator

It was the Capacitors who made the Relay "Click," on the Back Main Board (White Box)

I replaced all the 4 White Capacitors and The Gray Ones,

    its Working Now Fine...

The white box is the housing for the rear p.c.b. and it will be a relay clicking you are hearing probably caused by capacitors not holding charge (common fault with this machine).

Some people have chnged all the capacitors on the board or indeed pay a £200 + repair bill for the replacment of the circuit boards back and front :(

  • Anonymous May 12, 2008

there are 8 capacitors in total. replacing them all does the trick as i had same fault on my machine.

when i removed them all had low values and one was dead but afterwards all has been ok with the unit

water flow is constant and no more clicking relays

    hope that helps

Sorry couldnt find where i could edit my last post

European appliances run on 220-240 volts systems. much more relible motors and pumps.then the 110-120 volts system in the USA. The white box is most likely a cover for your compressor . Sounds like freon knock This noise is most likely due to the refrigerant moving through the system. it can happen in an overcharged system. or a system that has a restriction in it... let us know if you find out anything else..krazttech

That model # dont come up in any of my data bases ...check model # again on inside ref. side on upper top right side. Seems like a little too much to me... I believe thats more the 250 u.s. Not sure what this white box is.. saying 220-240 volts... all ref. I worked on was 120volts. can u give more info on the white box... how many wires? where mounted? ect. u sure noise comeing from there? If Not,,, you could check the compressior or lines going to the compressior might be making the noise.. check to see if any of the lines are touching or close enough to hit each other when compressior starts up.. check the rubber bushings under the feet of compressor see if any are loose or anything around them that can rattle... get in back with a light and check close for possible causes

Get someone else to bounce the car while you lay on your back and look. We have no idea what the problem can be and you could have left a lot of stuff loose under there. Maybe you didn't tighten everything up. Check it with a friend bouncing the car.

Hotpoint aquarius wml760 noisey when spinning with stuff in but ok empty

more than likely the rear bearing has gone bad and when a load is applied the difference in weight distribution causes the knocking.

Clunking and knocking noise from rear when hitting bumps.

-it could be the sawy bar linkages
-but also check to see if the struts are leaking or that it looks damp
-but because you said it doesn't look like it bouncing when you hit a dip most likely it could be that the struts are dead
-check to see the cars ride hieght that would give you a clue

Knocking/banging sound on compressor start up

Check the compressor mounts. They are usually springs mounted with rubber. If they are two loose the compessor wil hit some other metal part when starting up. Shakle it and see what it is hitting. Ajust accordingly.
