Question about Wireless Access Points

2 Answers

Ares system I recently got internet with a company in ireland, but I am completely unable to connect to systems such as e-mule or Ares. I contacted my internet co. and was told that they do not support this type of actions, websites, P2P etc l don't honestly know... therefore I won't be able to do this... I was wondering if anyone knew how to connect to one of these systems. I don't think they are illegal and don't understand the reasons why they don not allow it. I hope i explained it clearly, I don't know which country this website is from. Many thanks, Laleni

Re: Ares system

Normally, the wireless routers (d-link) do not supports the traffic type Ares and similar applications need. I think that is the problem... its not normal that ISP put filters on your traffic.

Re: Ares system

Sure...they are filtering your traffic...i'm afraid you have to either live with it or change providers. there are a few ways to get around this but none of them are easy or painless and honestly not really ptractical. Good luck

I was trying to change the security pass phrase on my modem with the system settings online. It looked like it was in the process of making the change and now I cannot connect wirelessly.also the wep is...

when you configure the modem there are two types user name and passwords you give,
first user-name name and password are for opening modem configuration, once you in,
there are also username and password there and it is providede by your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
once you change it you will not able to connect to the internet.
if you don't mind i suggest you to contact ISP soon as possible.

Connecting a wireless router to Tiscalli broadband connection

  1. USB modem is connecting a PC USB port with a DSL phone line: CANNOT be connected to a ROUTER LAN (ethernet NOT USB port).
  2. Wireless ROUTER is NOT a modem and it CANNOT connect the Internet (or WAN) LAN port to any "phone line"
  3. Connect the Router Internet (WAN) port to Modem (you need a LAN MODEM = a modem with a LAN/ETHERNET port)
  4. Be sure your internet is running before strting ROUTER configuration with Router Company CD

Is WiFlyer still in business?

Always On Wireless is down, that seems to be sure.
For the Accelerator there is a solution:
The software is based on the "SLIPSTREAM" -system. You can use any other accelerator software based on that system. I have found the shareware "Nitro Web Accelerator", which can be downloaded from different shareware-providers. The trial runs 14 days, after that it will cost 30 $.

Siemens Gigaset SE587 WLAN dsl

Error #105 TCP connection to the server timed out.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have received this error, you are not using the latest RealPlayer. RealPlayer 8 Basic is a FREE, recommended update available for Windows 95/98/NT and recent Macintosh systems.
If your system meets the minimum system requirements, it is recommend that you update your player.
Error #105 TCP connection to the server timed out.
The attempt to connect to the TCP server took longer than allowed. This problem may be caused by a high network load (i.e. too many people on the internet) or the server maybe down.
If the load is too high, you may try later or you can increase how long your computer waits by changing the Network timeout values under the Connection tab in the RealPlayer Preferences. If the server is down, the only solutions are to try a different server or contact the server administrator for the site you are trying to access.
