There's a small switch on the back. It's covered by a silver sticker. It will void the warranty if the sticker is removed, but once the little switch is hit, the video will be displayed while Driving for the front seat passenger ;-) You also should connect the brake wire to a constant ground source to avoid any problems. -I-

Ebay has copied version for around $15. But many of the copied discs are poor quality and malfunction after a short time. Goodluck.

There is a built-in speaker for those tones inside the unit.
Seems as if your internal amplifier IS blown. It is probably cheaper - and will sound better to install a cheap 2 or 4 channel amplifier anyway.
The head units BOAST 50W per channel... but that is PEAK power. Most actually only produce 10-15W rms.
Replacing an output on the head unit will run you approximately $75 for the first... and $20 each additional. (up to 4)
You can get a great class a/b 2 or 4 channel amplifier for that price with built in crossovers and your sound will be 100x better!
