Question about Denon Dns1000 Table Top CD Player CD Player

Cd player flopped @ a party

Tonight one of my Denon DN-S 1000 cd players went haywire at a party. It kept telling me "disk error" and making a whinning noise until I ejected the cd. It would play some cd intermittendly. It even stopped completely in the middle of a song. I thought it may have been dirty disks, but cleaning them didn't make a difference. Of, course my warranty is expired. HELP!!!

Thanks for the response. Yea, I turned mine of and on too but she still gives me this problem occasionally. I took it to the electronics store where I bought it and they are going to fix it. Had to leave a $50.00 deposit. I hope it doesn't cost too much more than that to repair. I will post the fixYa results when the finish.

Yep, same problem. Keeps telling me there's a disc error however the discs work in the other player. I haven't even used it that much but it's out of warranty. Bugger!

This is a normal problem with these players. Trust me I own two of them. There is an overheating problem with them. they usually oveerheat after about 3 hours. I usually just throw on a long mix and let the other player cool off. Check the unoffical Denon forums and you will see that this has been a problem for years.

There is not an over heating problem with these decks. It is usually because the cd disc itself gets very warm/hot and the laser has a problem reading the data from it. There is an update that helped address some of these reading problems. Please visit www.denoindjforums for further help.

I get disc error when inserting a disc into my Denon DN S700

Are you using the correct format of discs? It requires Standard compact disc (12 cm), types CD-TEXT, CD-R, CD-RW (CD-R and CD-RW disks must be finalised before using - but even then will not always be accepted) It will not work with CD+R or CD+RW
If it will not work with ANY CD (including professionally produced CDs) then the lens may need cleaning. Purchase a CD cleaning disk (a computer CD cleaning disk will work fine) pop it in the slot and hit the play button.
