Question about Samsung DynaFlat TX-P2764 27" TV

1 Answer

TV won't turn on

We have a Samsung TX-P2764 TV and it won't turn on either by remote or manually. The red standby/power light is not on at all and it always has been. There is no activity from the light - no blinking, nothing. The TV was plugged into a surge protector but the electricity doesn't seem to have gone out. We were away for 2 days -tv was working fine when we left- which is why I'm not sure about the electricity. Currently, the TV is unplugged but so far it's not helping. The tv is about 2 1/4 years old. Any suggestions? What do you think the problem is? Is is worth repairing? Thanks in advance for your help.

There is something wrong with the main power regulator to your TV. Contact any service technician. If you're sound in electronics, check this link. Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.

When i turn my tv on the sound is great but the picture is very narrow. My tv is at least 8 yrs old.

something similar to this happened to my old T.V, with mine it started to go wrong colours, the screen started to fade, with it being 8 years old, you may just need a new one, they will eventually fully break, so its best to get a new T.V

2. Press and hold SETuntil the Red Light blinks twice, then release SET.
3. Locate the code for your device in Manufacturer's Codes on the back of this user guide. Brands are listed in alphabetical order with the most popular codes listed first.
4. Enter the first five-digit code for your TV. If you perform this procedure correctly, the Red Light will blink twice
NOTE: If you enter an invalid code, the red light will display one long blink and exit the programming mode. Repeat steps 2 to 5 with a valid code.
5. Aim the remote control at your TV and press Power once. The device should turn off. If it does not respond, repeat steps 2 to 4, trying each code listed for your brand until you find one that works. If it still does not work, try Searching For Your Code.

TV won't turn on

Shorted problem. Maybe in primary or secondary power supply. Need a repairman. Busted regulator, or shorted diode.

Tye Dye Picture Always!

Is this an Analog TV with a picture tube? If so, it sounds like the screen is magnetized. Have you had any magnets (including speakers) near the screen?

Inside all analog TVs is what is called a degaussing coil. When you turn on the TV for the first time (cold), the degaussing coil is energized for a couple seconds to demagnetize the screen and then it goes off.

You can purchase an external degaussing coil and demagnetize the screen youself. A degaussing coil looks like a small hula-hoop about 6-8 inches in diameter with a AC line cord attached. I've even made these coils out of long lengths of enameled wire, electrical tape and a line cord.

Once itas plugged into the wall outlet, you hold it close to the screen (1/2' away) with the hoop facing the screen and move the hoop in a circular pattern, covering all areas of the screen and slowly move the hoop away from the screen while still moving in a circular patten until your about 2-3 feet from the screen.

If you did it right, the color splotches will be gone.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance to you or help you to locate one of these coils.

It's possible that the coil in your set is bad.

Good Luck!
