i have a GE washer that will lock and fill but after 1 minute or less will unlock and do nothing can you help me out

- actually i went back ran it through diagnostics and ecery thing works perfectly except for when it goes to test the spin or tumble the display just shows 00 and wont do anything but the door dock stays locked throughout the entire diagnostics so im thinking its the inverter?Same Problem

It sound like a lid switch issue.
The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch.
Look if the switch is broken or loose. In case it looks OK mechanically, it might be defective electrical and should be replaced. Good luck!

I have a English electric washer/dryer, model EE100WD..The water fills up, but the drum wont turn, but I can hear a humming sound. I can turn the programme switch to drain the drum and that works. Could it be that the brushes need replacing, as it looks like one of the carbon brushes is broken....thanks Nina
