I used the phone all day will no problems. Even spoke on the phone a few minutes prior. Then I went to make a call and noticed the phone was off. When I went to turn it back on the moto sign appeared then it went back off. I then tried to power it on again and nothing. I found a site that suggested the # * and power button. I did that and it flashed for a second said low battery but it went back off before I could read anything else. I tried taking out the battery and letting it sit. Then I tries the # * power on again. Now the key pad lights will flash every other second but thats it, nothing else happens. Any suggestions? Ive has the phone for about a month and am starting to regret it due to the problems I have had. Ugh! I really like this phone! This sucks!!
Me and the mrs had the same problem numerous times with ours, only thing to do is send it back and wait for it to happen again then send it back etc etc or find another phone to love, we have samsungs now, so far so good.

1st thing is DO NOT try to power up the phone. Remove the battery and SIM card (if equipped). Let the phone set up for a few days to dry out. You can you use a hair dryer too but I still recommend letting it air dry for a few days (at least 3). Note: You may start to notice the phone acting strange (i.e. power cycling, keys not responding etc.) after a few weeks or months. This will be due to corrosion building up on the inside. So if you do manage to get it to work, back up any information that you don't want to lose because it may not come back on the next time you shut it off.
You'll wanna ensure your phone is totally charged. Also, let it completely drain before putting back on the charger. This will help with the charging memory. As for the phone. Do a master reset: to do a "Master Reset". I went to "Settings," "Other Settings,"
"Initial Setup," "Master Reset" and put in the security code. "1234" is
the security code if you have not reset yours.
It'll get the phone back to as you got out of the box, day one! Your numbers will be fine. You'll notice the ringtone and the wall paper will be the orignals.
I am having the same problem with mine it has even lost all pictures, ringtones and graphics even the default ones. I spent most of the day on Thursday on the phone with AT&T and none of the 10 people that I spoke to could help me they had never heard of this problem before and they said I would have to buy a new phone. I really like this phone and would like to fix it if I can but don't know what to do HELP!!!!
i had the same problem for a long time. took a piece of paper and wedged it at the top of the battery to force it tighter to the battery contacts at the bottom and the problem went away for the most part. Prior to this fix, my phone would 'reboot' itself or turn itself off several times a day...
