Inland ProHT Bluetooth Headset Black Logo

When I attempt to turn on my headset it shuts itself off after a couple of seconds, even if the headset is fully charged. I have this issue whenever I use Windows 7 on my pc, but it connects just fine, and stays on, whenever I'm using linux on my laptop. So it can't be the battery. I'm using the same usb bluetooth dongle for my laptop and pc. The dongle is an asus usb-BT211 adapter. I originally connected the headset using my pc's built in dongle which had terrible signal strength so I switched to my usb dongle which works fine. All the drivers are up to date, and they all installed correctly. Maybe some of that last bit of information is unnecessary, but I've run out of ideas that's causing this issue. Any ideas why this headset does not stay on when I'm on Windows 7 as opposed to using linux?

I have a Advent 8315 the turns itself off when unplugged even when its fully charged

Try removing your battery, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in and see if it powers up. If not, take your battery out, put it in the freezer overnight, take it out and let it sit in room temperature for 12 hours and then put it back in ....DO NOT put it in right out of the freezer and into the laptop ...let it warm up .... after 12 hours, try it and see if it shows 0% and charging ...if it still shows 100% charged, your battery is shot. Let me know how it goes

Shutting itself down

Make sure the charger is plugged in before attempting this. If already plugged in or same thing happens then you can try and follow the guide as below to do a hard reset:

If still not able to reset, poss hardware issue

Thanks

Hi Matthew,

With those headsets that think is a known issue.
If nothing happens when you hold down the answer button then the battery must be out (or the headset is faulty).
If you tried to plug it into a USB on a PC to charge it, and the red light does not stay on then I'm afraid it became faulty.
All you can do now is to get back to the retailer who sold it to you and get a replacement for it, or if the retailer cannot help you consider getting back to MadCatz requesting a replacement if it's still within warranty.

Hope it helps.

It conntinually shuts off during a conversation even when full charged

Is it actually powering off? or is it just losing its pair with the phone? it could be a bluetooth issue with the phone or the handset. If its powering off all of the sudden, and its fully charged. It is malfunctioning. Check for a replacement under warranty.

I plug it in and the charge light stays on for a couple of seconds and thats all it will do

That means that the headset is already fully charged! Whenever you have a fully charged item and you plug it back in, the light will only stay on for a few seconds, signifying it's charged.

Whenever i click it on, it makes a clicking sound that won't stop

First make sure it is fully charged then press both volume buttons simoultaneously until the blue light come on. May need to do it more than a couple of times to get it to work but the clicking sound does go away.

Loosing power randomly

how old are the batteries and how many times they were charged without being fully drained can cause a short life for the battery. Try a new battery-fully charging it properly, but dont charge it again till it goes off by itself completely. If you have a wall charger, plug your phone in. If it stays on that way, check your 'power save' settings. That can also make your camera shut off. Try these steps first and see if it changes the 'battery' from being empty to full and stays on. hope this helps
