Question about Nordic Track C2400 Treadmill Walking Deck

1 Answer

The motor does not come on when you turn on the power. The display lights up like it is trying to work. When you punch any of the buttons nothing happens except it beeps at you. The fan does not work. The audio connection does work. The reset button was not tripped. The reset button functions to cut off the power to the display and the unit beeps back at you as you restore or reset the power. The unit was not used for a few months and when we cut it back on this was what we found. Before this it was functioning well.

When you press the buttons do they change anything on the screen? If yes then you have a bad controller, if no you have a bad console.

SOURCE: The digital touch screen display is not showing

What your seeing is a common problem which I encountered on 3 separate displays. I have since diagnosed the problem and am currently life-testing a working solution. The real problem is very poor design of the negative voltage generator circuit for the display contrast. Everything else is working fine except that circuit. I have designed and installed in my treadmill a replacement circuit that is much stronger and am currently testing it. zubatcha@gmail.com for more information

SOURCE: My C2255 will try to start rotating for a second

Remove the motor hood cover. Under the lid is a tech sheet. There you will find the service mode calibration procedures and an explanation of what the flashing LED means on the motor controller.
It sounds like an overcurrent shut down.
Listen carefully to the operation of the controller PCB. When start is pressed, you will hear a relay clik. Watch the motor for excessive sparking. Upon shutdown, you will hear it clik again (off).
Unplug the machine, disconnect one of the motor wires, either red or black. Plug in the machine and start it again, listening to the controller. if they relay now stays on, I would suspect a defective motor (drawing too much current).

Ensure that the treadmill is plugged into a grounded outlet using the correct surge suppressor. Use a UL 1449 suppressor listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS). It must be rated for 15 amps and 120 volts AC. Secure the services of an electrician if the outlet is not grounded, or move the Proform treadmill near a grounded outlet. Do not use an extension cord.

Insert the safety key fully into the display. Treadmills with keys are designed not to turn on without the safety key in place.

    • 3

Find the circuit breaker on the front of the frame and make sure it is not tripped. The circuit breaker is a vertical switch on the 540S and a horizontal switch on the 540 Interactive Trainer. Press it to the "Reset" position, which will be labeled.
2. Reed Switch

o 1

Unplug the treadmill and remove the safety key.

o 2

Move the upright base of the treadmill down with the help of another person and lift the uprights so that you can get to the underside of the console. Use a Phillips screwdriver with at least a 5-inch shaft to remove the screws. There are five hood screws on the 540 Interactive trainer and four screws on the 540S.

o 3

Remove the motor hood to get to the small reed switch by pivoting the hood off the frame. Find the reed switch and magnet, which are on the left side of the pulley for both models.

o 4

Turn the pulley with your hand until the reed switch aligns with the magnet. There should be 1/8-inch gap between the two. Fix the distance so that it is 1/8 inch by loosening the reed switch screw and sliding it to the correct distance. Tighten the screw.

o 5
Reverse the directions to put the hood back on and the treadmill upright in the original position

Chech: Optical Sensor if have it.

SOURCE: Treadmill won't start. Console works but when

If the console takes batteries, replace them. If this does not work or your console does not require batteries, check the reed switch or optic sensor. Reed Switch: Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The reed switch is mounted on the frame next to the front roller pulley. There is a magnet glued into the front roller pulley. When adjusting the reed switch, make sure it is pointing directly at the magnet. Move the tip of the reed switch within 1/8" of the magnet. Also, check to see that the wire is not damaged, and is connected to the console
.
Optic Sensor: Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The optic disk and sensor are located either at the end of the motor or the right hand side of the front roller. The optic disk spins between two sensors on the optic switch. The disk must spin freely without touching either sensor. The sensors can be moved by loosening the adjustment bolt holding the switch to its bracket. The switch can then be slid. Center the disk.

No picture display or image when I turn the camera on

Did you try to press the display button on the back of the camera?
With the display button you can cycle through different things on the display. One is power save and it will display nothing. Perhaps that is everything you have to do. If that does not work, let me know.

Camera won't turn on

I am assuming that the power does not go on or it immediately turns off as it is turned on.

Try the docking station or the 3.3 AC adapter to the camera. Plug that in to live power. If you hear the lens motor (by default the lens is retracted to closed position when plugged to AC power), then the camera is operational. If not, there is power failure with the camera.

If the lens motor work, then try to turn the camera while plugged to AC power. If it turns on, then there is something wrong with the battery or with the chamber. If the camera does not turn on, then check the button board for a bad power switch.

Check the LCD closely under a bright light when you do this test. You may see a faint a flash of display that disappears. I have not figured out what causes this. This would mean that camera power supply is working but nothing is telling for the camera to stay on.

Default setting

Your machine is old analague and a few years old now.It should be no problem changing. If your exposure settings are out it may be drum wear but more often or not all mirrors needing good clean.
Off top of head....M/c off..hold down 0and 8 numerics and power on...AD or AJ on display.punch in 15 and press print..... should read 00 on display... punch in01 and press green print button..press 09 and m/c ready to go if not switch off and on.
If unhappy with auto expose or manual middle expose...0+5 power on...AD or AJ on display, punch in 0+1 then print key opens exposure....pressing 1 increases light each press,,,try poss.10 times and print after to load.. and 7 decreases light to darken then print to change value. 0+9 together will get m/c to ready please try, all the best.
