My internet reception has slowed down

first i would check and make sure you have your wireless network secured, if your using wep encryption chances are that someone is using your internet and slowing you down. go into your routers settings by typing in this address in a web browser 192.168.1.1 the default password will be admin if you havent already changed that, if you havent i highly recomend that go under the administration tab and change the password there, next click on the wireless tab and change your encryption to wpa personal and change your password just to be safe and make sure no ones stealing your signal, you can also check and see if anyone other than you is logged onto your wireless by going to the status tab and then click on dhcp client list or client table and that will list all the devices connected to your system it should start with an ip of about 192.168.1.100 and if there are more than 2 of those ip address listed then someone else is logged on and stealing your internet, change the passwords and save the settings after you make any changes then after that you'll have to reconect your laptop using the new password this should help :)
