I was given two CD-Rom drives which I fittted to nmy PC. Now I heve three compact disc drives fitted to the PC, but when I go to turn the computer on, I get the message that it cannot find the BOOT record, what is the problem? Can somebody help.

- The solution was spot on. I have changed the "jumpers" on the drives and now is ok. There is a third jumper set, what is this for. Thank you for the good advice.
You should have your hard drive as master and 1 CD drive as slave on one IDE channel, with the other 2 CD drives on the other IDE channel, one set to master and one set to slave.
So, pull the CD drives out and check the master/slave jumpers on the back of them.

for some unknown reason my cd/dvd rewriter burner will not start (code 10 ) when i look in device manager. i send error report but still the problem is there. I am using a Toshiba Equium A200 running Vista. It was working fine 4 days ago. I have tried rolling back using restore point but made no difference. Please help Chris
