SanDisk 2GB memory card

I have a Blackberry 8310 phone and I bought a SanDisk 2GB memory card. I put it in and it it says "Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted." So I went to options and selected Media Card, then I clicked the menu button and selected "Format Card." I waited for more than 10 minutes and nothing happened, my phone froze up...I couldnt scroll to select anything with the tracking ball. So I took out the battery and memory card, and put the battery back in to restart my phone, to get it to work again.

What should I do to get my memory card formatted correctly and working?

Format the mem card through your computer instead maybe, it works best if u have a usb reader that the sd card slot in then jus plug it in. if it dont automatically show up on pc go to 'my computer' in the menu and it should b found there prob as removable drive, once in it right click mouse and should b an option to format sd card, hope this helps.

SOURCE: Cannot scroll up with my Blackberry Curve 8310 trackball

It is a very common problem. You just need a new trackball. Should be about $25. If you want to make it work temporary, then just removed it and clean the trackball and the phone part under it (on the phone itself) with 99% alcohol. It might work for a while again

Put the SanDisk into your SideKick phone, and navigate through the menu-items to "format" the device, i.e., delete all pictures, and return to "factory-shipped" condition. Then, put it into your B.B., and repeat the "format" process, to be 100% "factory-setttings".

Media card

Hi,

If you inserted your sd card corectly, you should be able to save items to it as long as it is not a defective unit. Do the following:

1) From the Home Screen Menu, go to Settings, then Options, and scroll down to Media Card and choose it with the trackball.

2) From there you will see the Media Card configuration options which allow you to set the Media Card Support, as well as the Mass Storage Support option. Also, you will be able to confirm from this screen if the phone is recognizing the presence of your sd card. Hope this helps.

Installing the 1gb card

Remove the sheel backside of your phone
remove the battery
now you see your sim-card
you place the sd-card just at the right side of the sim-card
lift the mediacard holder
insert the sd-card into the slot in the mediacard holder so that the metal connectors on the card will align with the metal connectors on your phone when the media card holder door is closed
close th media card holder door and slide the media card door away from its hinges to lock it
put back the battery and shell and you done!
