Anyone have this problem before? main fuse was blown, found R1531 burnt open, replaced but still has problems blowing fuse. checked HOT and is not shorted. there appears to be a problem in Horz circuit but cannot find it. Hopeing its a common problem someone out there has seen. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

If the main fuse keeps blowing, check the horizontal output transistor for a shorted condition and diodes in that section as well.

you would want to send it to a shop to make sure it gets repaired propely

all sets must have rated fuse for protection. some units now use what is called a PICO-FUSE.this type of fuse is soldered into the pc board. usually marked with location i.d. F301,F901,F400. etc. these fuses look like resistors or in-line coils. check continuity w/ohm meter. if new fuse blows as soon as you plug in tv, suspect bridge diode ciruit or main filter cap(large ripple filter by main fuse. if new fuse blows when you try to turn on, suspect 130v regulator or high voltage short(horizontal-output, flyback transformer) good luck!

Almost every modern set will just go into power supply shutdown if the horizontal output transistor is bad or other problems place a heavy load on the secondary side of the supply. Usually that results in a ticking or whistling from the set, but it won't blow the main fuse. A blown fuse typically means shorted parts in the primary side of the power supply.
The switching supplies used in today's sets can be a real pain. Check for a shorted input bridge rectifier or shorted switching transistors. There are also optical isolators used to provide control feedback and they can go bad, causing the supply to run away and blow up parts. A service manual or at least schematic diagram is very helpful. You might be able to find one online. I've checked my files and I don't have anything for the chassis used in this set.

Found a shorted diode D1509 ordered from panasonic. replaced and now resistors do not get blazing hot as before. Tv works ok now. Hope this helps someone else.
