Question about RCA 25414RE3 Corded Phone

2 Answers

Phone is not recording all messages left

I have the additional cordless handset H5400 that is compatible with this phone. The corded phone will record most incoming calls but not all. I don't know if this is due to a cell phone being used by the caller that is leaving the message. I also wonder if the cordless handset might be creating the problem. Does anyone else have this problem?

The 25414RE3 isn't the model with the answering machine. The one that has the answering machine is the 25415RE3.

As for the problem, does the answering machine part of the unit actually pick up the line? Does it announce your pre-recorded message? Does it just not record the caller's response?

Mitel Superset 420 corded phone has static

Static on the handset of a MITEL phone is indicative of either a defective handset cord **OR** the user has one of those cord detangler devices attached to the cord. If it's a cord detangler, remove it, smash it with a hammer and throw it away. Advise the end-user to please not use these as they all become staticky after several weeks use. If the user has problems with their handset cord constantly becoming tangled, THAT PROBLEM is indicative of neck or ear fatigue from frequent LONG CALLS and the user keeps moving the handset from one ear to another (changing hands). THE FIX FOR THIS is to give the user either a corded or cordless headset (or check SMDR records for excessive personal calls)

The problem may be due to both your handsets operating on the same channel. To fix, try pressing and releasing the "chan/delete" button on one of the headsets. This will move it to the next available channel.

Does just one handset works for call or are they suppose to work both hat the same time?

DECT cordless phones associated with the same base unit will all ring when an incoming call is recived, however only one handset can answer the call.
Unlike a corded phone, another handset cannot "join" an ongoing call, but the call can be transfered between handsets - your phone's manual will tell you how.

Uniden 5.8Ghz phone.

You need to reset the main base unit. Unplug the power from the back of the base. While the power is disconnected, press and hold the delete key while reconnecting the power. Wait for a long beep tone. When the display shows 88 or P, press play button one time. If you have a phone without an answering machine, disconnect the power from the back of the base, press and hold find hs button while reconnecting power.
