Question about OEM Systems PIXMA iP3300 Photo Printer
My NEW Pixma ip3300 won't recognize my PGI-5 black ink cartridge. It was working well for some time and all of sudden (I just refill it) the cartridge isn't recognized. When I take it out and reinstall it the cartridge lamp goes on, but when the printer resets itself the indicator lamp goes out. I have also turned the printer on and off and even press the RESET button for 5 seconds...nothing works. Any advice would be appreciated to get it fixed.
You need to wait longer for the printer to recognize the ink cartridge, but first clear all cartridge error messages on the printer.

SOURCE: Canon PIXMA iP3300 Won't Work!
My first suggection is to return it to the store for a full replacement with you original receipt. No way should a printer do this just out of its box. The more you fiddle with it, the less likely to be able to replace it (and the longer you leave it to. If you leave it too long, you will have to have it repaired under warranty. You can try uninstalling it by following correct pc directions at remove programs menu. Then, unplug it after turing it off. Replug it, reinstall it. Try printing now. If still no good, repeat the whole process but this time, do not reinstall with original disc. Make a copy and reinstall the printer with the copy. Noe try printing again. If no luck, return it to store in as original condition as you can manage with all softwares and mauals and your receipt and demand a replacement, Under fair trading they cannot refuse.

Called Canon. It is a defective cartridge and they are going to send me a new one once I fax in my receipt for the purchase of the printer.
