Question about Pinnacle VIDEO CAPTURE| PCTV PRO (PCTVPRO)

Pinnacle 9.1 capture

So here's the thing: I have already done a wee bit of capturing on pinnacle. Gone back to do some more today and it refuses (claiming there is no camcorder attached) But there is! My Sony Handycam is on, turned to play, and is fire-wired in. Also, know thre's definetly not a prob with connection between computer and camcorder as have checked and captured in Media Movie Maker. Their help, isn't helpful. Could someone help, before I pull out every last hair on my head! Cheers, S.

Is your IEEE port(firewire port) a PCI interface card? if yes then youll have to dig inside your hardware(make sure that your system is turned off) try to reseat the card into the PCI slot then turn on your PC again and connect your handycam. then check if your computer already detected your handycam

Computer not recognising VCR- what plug should i use?

You need a TV tuner card to be able to read both audio-video signal, else how are you going to covert analog to digital. The VCR gives out analog output.

in the Selected capture menu, toggle back and forth between Pinnacle file capture and dazzle to see if you can trick it into working for you. Also on vcr, toggle between tv and vcr to see that will help.
