Our Saeco Delux Magic coffee maker will not grind the coffee when we push the button. A light comes on that indicates that the grinder could be jammed.

i have already opened the machine and there was never a rock. what i noticed is that the grinder as it starts grinding it kind of pushes the beans away from it instead of pulling them in. What i did is that I removed the plastic lid or plastic fixer of the bean tank, and started pushing the coffee beans manually, it does help sometimes if you play around with the coarseness lever thats located next to the bean tank.
all of this unfortunately makes the coffee bean tank to be throttling around the machine cause its not fixed to it. it also appears that if you run out of coffee beans you will suffer the same problem again.

Hi
The grinders run on a timer. If the grinders does not fill the doser in time you will get a light saying no beans. If this happens and there are beans in the hopper push the lever to the largest # and push the brew button again. This will clear the light and it should brew. If it is at the largest # already your beans are probably shiny and there is to much oil in the beans and this is what is clogging the grinder.

You probably picked up a stone in the burr grinder. If you pull the bean hopper and look under the large rubber gasket (it pulls off as well) you will see the burr grinder. Make sure the machine is unplugged and clean the grinder head where the little ridges grind the beans.

Hope that helps.

Two weeks ago I paid > $100 for a full service (Saeco Magic Deluxe) and now the machine won't grind the coffee beans. Any suggestions so I can be a bit "knowledgable" if I need to take it...

Hi
If the grinder is spinning your grind set is too fine. Push the lever below the bean hopper to the back. It can go to a coarser setting anytime but the grinder has to be spinning to make it finer. They may not have set the grinder correctly. Have them walk you through the process. It also takes about 2 to 3 times before the grinder fills to work.

My saeco magic coffee machine says ventilate. How do I do this?

Hi
If it is just a Magic Delux, open the steam knob, without pushing the steam button. If its a Magic Comfort you have to push the button with the drops on it and it will flow water.

Hi
Sounds like you have a blockage in you grind passage. Try removing the brew group. Then inside on the roof of the machine above where the brew unit sat, there is a drop chute where the coffee is dropped into the brew unit. From the left side of the drop chute pull down and back, and it will drop coffee. This will clear an opening that relieves pressure on the passage. There is a passage inside the drop chute area that goes to the grinder. Vacuum it out. It will be on the right side of the drop chute.
Once that is cleared go to the bean hopper. There is a lever under the bean hopper. Push the lever back to the largest number. You can push the lever to a larger number any time, but it has to be grinding to pull to a smaller number. Now replace everything and make your coffee. Once you have made your coffee you can pull back to a number that was higher than the one you had it on, but only when the grinder is running.

Saeco Vienna grinds too much coffee.

Hi
If you have the Delux or Digital there are 2 knobs in the bean hopper. Turn the small knob back 1 mark and see if that will help.

Saeco magic de luxe cleaning grinder

I don't know what you mean by disarming the grinder. Unless you are talking about using the bypass. If that is the case there is a button on the panel that has waht looks like a scoop. Push that button and put a scoop in the bypass door and then push the button for what cup size you whant. Regarding the taste of the coffee. It may need a cleaning and service. Try googling "saeco repair" and find an authroized Saeco repair center and have a good service done on it.
