Tv is locked

Hello, i have a insignia lcd tv. the model number is NS-20LCD. i was watching the tv and i turned up the volumed and the tv locked on me. i don't have the original remote i do have a sony universal remote. i have turn it off and let it sit unplug for a day or so and it still turns on lock. Any advice or solutions would be nice. thank you

-   I had the same problem, and I resolved it.

I just kept pressing the display button.

It worked for me.

-   HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM EVEN PURCHASED REMOTE FROM BEST BUY THAT IS SUSPOSE TO BE THE CORRECT 1. THE PROBLEM STILL NOT SOLVED-   Guest

hi guys got same tv same prob......finally after hours of frustration found a solution.

steps:
  • Turn on tv
  • Press and hold the menu button (you will hold this through the next few steps till the menu comes up)
  • turn the tv off using the silver button on the back of the tv
  • push the button back in on the back of the tv
  • tv should come on and bring up the menu
  • using the channel and volume get to the menu with the v-chip controls there should be a reset menu button change it to on.
  • turn off tv using power button on front of tv.
  • turn it back on and problem should be solved

i had the same problem, but i had a Philips PM435S Univeral remote, I just started guessing different combinations, and found that pushing the code search button and then pressing 0 unlocked the tv
