Lightware vp800 we turn on projector, fan works, light comes on, fan is on high working properly, it runs for 6 minutes, then only the light goes off and the fan stays on (in high position) and within 1-2 minutes the light comes back on and runs for another 5-6 minutes and the light goes off again. Can the thermal switch be bad? We think unit is cooling properly. When turned on and then off fan runs in low position, working properly also.

very similar problem. Lamp 600 hours use. Turns itself off oafter 5-6 minutes with red lamp warning. Plenty of life in lamp. Filters cleaned, fans cleaned, lamp tightened, slight hot/burning smell when turned on but cannot see anything overheating - probably just the lamp?

Turning off and on seems to reset

Could it be a thermal cutout?

If so does anybody know where this is located before I go delving?

After my vp800 plays for a hours it cuts off. WHY?

Remove the cover and check whether the air filters blocked with dust.
Whenair filters are blocked, air doesn't flow freely through the projector. This result in overheating, leading to automatic shutdown.

Light goes on and off lightware vp800

Hi, How long have you had the unit? If its new take it back and get warranty repair. If longer then, try giving it a good clean. Get some "Air Cans" if you can to blow trough the vents. It could be dust/dirt on the sensor. If you clean it first then we can be sure. If you are ok about taking the casing off then you can give it a better clean. If after cleaning it is still playing up, it is an overheating problem and best repaired by proper service centre as they can get the parts you need.

Dell 3200MP projector. Lamp warning light comes on after approx 30 minutes of use and the lamp turns off. Bulb is new. I am not sure what the warning light is indicating.

The ambient temperature in the room is to high.
Try lowering the room temperature. If that doesn't work
get a small fan and place it near the projector to provide
extra cooling. The projector is running border line on
high temperature and just needs a little extra cooling.

When I connect a Lenovo w500 laptop - using windows xp - the screen of the laptop becomes magnified and the the image from the projecttor reflets same magnifacation - when I disconnect from projector and...

You don't probably, your laptop screen is not exactly becoming magnified, the resolution is being lowered to match the maximum resolution of your projector which is only 800x600. They are setup as "cloned" together. You could try setting up an "extended desktop" rather than having the projector "cloned" with your laptop screen, that way you can change the resolution (within their allowed limits) of both displays independently. To do this, Right click on desktop and select video setting or the control panel of whatever video card you have. If you can set up an extended desktop, it is here that you'll be able to do it.

My Lightware VP 800 fan turns on but when I press the power on button it powers up but no light comes on. The bulb does not need to be replaces. any ideas?

Check the bulb with a multimeter or it could be the ballast .Lots of times it an easy solution like trying another ac cord that fits better or even the ac fuse.

Manual for lightware vp800, and i can't get the sound to work

Try changing to your S video wire input. If you hear a cracking sound it could be you've blown your speakers. It depends on your application but I run all my DVD equipment through my stereo system, just run the same video wire to your stereo and select that input on the stereo .And yes they do have remote controls, try ebay where you can get another vp800 w/remote under 100.

Can't get computer images to project

Hi, I have found out that you must have the laptop set to an external monitor, in the control panel, display area, click on 2, then you must have the projector turned on before you start the laptop so it can recognize that the projector is there. Also make certain that you allow the unit to cool off by turning the lamp off, leaving the fan on and open the door where the projection lens is located.
