My computer will not recognize my sandisk micro to sd memory card. We want to use these for both pictures and music but can't get a recognition of the card on the computer. Any suggestions?

I have gotten two san dick micro 1GB memory cards. I formatted them on my phone and when I insert it into my computer it recognizes it (file folder pops up). After I download the song I want, I check for viruses and if they are ok, I move the file onto the memory card. When I move the file, it tells me it cannot move it onto the memory card and now it cannot even reconize that there is a memory card in the computer. So pretty much, when I try to put a music file onto my memory card it does not recognize that there is any memory card in my computer or even my phone for that matter.

If it is the built in memory card, and its unable to read the card so there may be some problem with your memory card reader.,simply try to read the memory card from external memory card reader and check whether you can read it or not..

You need to check whether you have given any password to the memory card or not.., if you had given the password to the memory card than you have put the memory card back into the handset than remove the handset than again try to read the memory card form the card reader...than your card will be detected

There's a lock on memory card adapter, maybe that's the reason it's not working, so to make that work just push it to the other side. raghav0007_2.jpg

I cant transfer my ringtones from my san disk to my phone

Hi chad0872,

First and foremost, you can't do anything if you don't have all of the components needed to do the job. You will definitely need a computer. More importantly, you will also need a Micro SanDisk and TransFlash to SanDisk adapter. The Micro SanDisk is a very small device, approximately the size of a chip. The disk is placed in your phone to store your phone's items for transfer. The TransFlash to SanDisk adapter is used to access the SanDisk files on your computer. Your SanDisk should be at least 256MB for sufficient storage space.
Once you've established and obtained everything you need, you can now begin the initial transfer process. Insert your Micro SanDisk into the phone where your ringtones are stored. Access the Media Folder or Content Management folder in the phone. Highlight each ringtone file you want to transfer. Open the Options' section available for the ringtones and opt to move your ringtones from the phone's storage to the memory card. Once the transfer process is complete, remove the memory card from the phone
Now that you have moved your ringtones to the Micro SanDisk, place the Micro SanDisk into the TransFlash SanDisk. Insert the TransFlash SanDisk into your computer. This expandable memory slot can usually be found in the from of most laptops and next to the USB slots on the front panel of desktop model computers. Once the insertion is detected, your computer's AutoPlay dialog window will appear or an import options will be given. When the ringtones' window opens, drag and drop the ringtone files from your Micro SanDisk to your computer's desktop screen. Then transfer it to your phone,,,,

good luck with your fix,,,
have a nice day,,

Not knowing how to insert into hard drive.

You need a USB to Flash card adapter, you push the little card into the slot, and if it is a mini card, it has to go into another card "Carrier" that plugs into another adapter, that then plugs into the PC, either through the USB adapter or a slot in PC, anyway, when you insert it, automatically, a driver will be installed, it is "Built into" Windows, now after it has done so. you can simply use it as a "Drive", meaning you can Copy, Cut, Paste.

My PC will not recognize my 2GB Micro SD Card

Does the PC recognize the adapter when you place onto the USB port? If not, try another USB port. It should atleast say it has detected hardware, see if it's finding and installing the drivers correctly.

If it's not the adapter, could you reformat the microsd card? Perhaps, it is corrupted? Is this SDHC or SD (what capacity). Older Blackberries do not support SDHC (I believe this is 4gb or above), perhaps this has something to do with it.

I hope this helps,

How do I use the SanDisk adaptor and the SanDisk 2GB microSD

The micro card (the smaller one) can be used alone in a port that accepts (microSD ports)such as those on a Sansa c240, c250, e250 etc.
If you have a regular SD slot (larger than microSD) then you plug the micro card in the adapter and plug the whole into a regular SD slot.

Plug the card in your computer and copy paste the files. Or plug the micro card in an MP3 player that accepts it and use you music transfert software.

You only have one card (the micro SD one), which you can use in two possible slots.

Hope it helps.

Cant fit my transflash adapter to my pc

Does your PC have a SD slot for the transflash adapter? If not you'll still need a SD to USB adapter to plug the SD into. If you have a Sony it may not be an SD slot it may be a Memory Stick or Memory StickPro which is not the same.

My micro sd card doesnt work in my transflash adapter.

Try to clean the card's contacts with a clean cloth or a tissue paper and reinsert the card in the adapter. Maybe the adapter is defective.

Micro SD 2 GB just stopped working

The PIC or EEPROM inside these cards may not be working. I guess you best bet is to buy a new one try Kingston brand or go with another Sandisk.

Transflash disk for samsung A-950

If it is a MicroSD, it should be fine. With the phone off and open so you can see the keypad, on the right-hand side of the keypad, you should see s rectangular cover that says 'Transflash'. Open the cover and insert the MicroSD card with the gold contacts facing up (toward the keypad). The slot is spring loaded, so push the card in until you hear a soft click. Then close the cover and turn on your phone. That should be it. Removal is the opposite. Just gently push in on the card to release it and it will slide out under the spring pressure.
The phone won't really acknowledge that the card is present but you can see how much room is available under Tools-System-Manage Memory.
