If you had no noise prior to replacing the water pump then the noise will be at the water pump. Remove the belt and turn the water pump by hand and you should feel the noise. I suspect fan bolts too long or water pump bolts not fitted in the proper holes and hitting on the pulley. If the problem can be felt in the shaft of the water pump I would take it back to whoever fitted it and have them re do the job as it may be that the impellor is hitting on the inside of the engine housing water jacket.

There are 2 pulleys that would make that sound. First would be the tensioning pulley, if the bearing is going out. Second would be you A/C clutch pulley, if it is going out. Look close at each, if one or the other is going out. You will see little metal filings below them.

You need to replace the tensioner assembly, not just the pulley.....
SOURCE: 1994 pontiac bonneville.car starts but stops after
This car uses a key with a transponder chip in it. The ignition reads the value of the chip thru 2 small contacts just inside the entrance of the keyhole. These contacts are known to get dirty, wear out, or become totally disconnected from the wire they are hooked to. Use electrical cleaner in the lock cylider and run the key in and out a few times to clean the lock. This is your temporary fix. The next item you may want to try ,is having another chip key made. If this doesn't work, then you will need to replace the ignition cylinder. You can try "Plastichead Keys" for these parts. They can be reached at [email protected].
SOURCE: GP with 3800 V6 keeps shedding the serpentine belt.
You have got something out of whack there, take a straight edge, like a metal ruler or framing square and line up the pulleys, try to find one that is out of whack. Wiggle the crank pulley and see if it is loose. If the belt is off, wiggle all the pulleys to see if one is loose. One of the pumps, comp, alt, etc, is either bent or has a broken bracket. Is the tensioner tight? Too tight? It should be ok if nothing squeals. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: can you just run the
Nope. Unless you buy a shorter serpentine belt. Not sure what the length would be or how to calculate it.
