If driver is corrupt, try downloading Drivers Max fron CNET -FREE and scan drivers. Install what is missing and best of luck.

SOURCE: cant find my wireless card in device manager in acer travel mate 2300

Hi,

In some Acer models, there is a software switch in Start/All Programs/Acer Launch Manager. If this is missing, you need to reinstall since even with the WiFi hard switch activated, this application is required. This is so especially if a new/clean/OEM install of the OS has been done on the laptop.

In some models, there is a hard switch either at the front or at the side to activate the internal wifi (and bluetooth). Still in other, there is button on the leading edge of the computer which also serves as an indicator lamp,

Some models also have WiFI enable/disable in the BIOS/CMOS setup.

Still others have a button along with the Easy-launch strip (top) together with the those for email , bluetooth , Acer Arcade & others.

As shown above, depending on the specific model/region version of your laptop, the WifI activation can be varied.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Acer Aspire 5570 laptop will no longer find our wireless network or pick up any others in the area...we checked the front switch and wireless is enabled...also tried the function F3 key and again, wireless...

Either the wireless adapter is not turned on, or its not installed properly, what I mean is, while it probably is properly in its place and not disconnected from the computers mainboard, it could have a driver problem.

You could check on that by right clicking on your my computer or computer icon on your desktop or find it from the start menu and right click on it. Select Manage from the list, from the management window, click on device manager on the left side.

Now on the right side the device manager should be open, from there look / open 'network adapters' and or look for any devices for ? or ! or X mark over them, these all would indicate a problem or that the device is disabled.

If there is a red X that means that the device is disabled right click on that device and select enable and your problem should be solved.

if its a ? mark right click on it and select properties from the new window that opens read the status message and post it to me here and I can give you further instructions.

If its anything else or if its not listed, or if it is listed, just post here and lets see what we can do.

Acer Aspire One netbook just finished a Windows update (XP Home) and the wireless network adapter went away. Connected now via Ethernet cable.

Go to the Device manager.
In the device manager do you see the Wireless adapter it might be under Network adapter .
Check If it is disabled then enable it.
Or you may find the option under other devices. The drivers of the adapter might b uninstalled.
You will need to install the adapter drivers.

Hi,

This method will hard reset the wireless drivers back to default settings, but before you perform this remove power from the modem and router for 2 minutes reconnect power and wait another 2 minutes for them to settle down.

Go to your laptop, right click "computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", a list will populate, then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the wireless adapter and "uninstall" the device, reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the wireless card and install the drivers for it, this will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again.

Can't connect to the internet

Go to device manager if there is any (!) mark under Network Adapters. Try to update or reinstall drivers. If issue let us know so we can look for further troubleshooting options. Good luck

Wireless icon has disappeared from system tray and when I try to open network centre/connection icon it will not open.

The following solution has worked for me:
- Right-click "My computer" on the start menu, and select "Properties"
- Go to the "Hardware" tab, and select "Device Manager"
- Check if the wireless adapter is listed under "Network adapters"
- If it's not listed, right-click and select "Scan for hardware changes"

With any luck, the wireless adapter should be detected, and the drivers installed.

Wifi connectivity problem

It's possible that the driver for your wireless adapter is already installed. Check under Device Manager > Network Adapters if there is anything pertaining to your wireless adapter. Make sure that your wireless adapter (under Device manager > Network adapters) does not have any red X or yellow question mark.

Red X indicated that it's disabled , while yellow question mark will suggest that you need to update the driver. If your wireless adapter is working properly under Device Manager > Network adapters then you will need to configure it's utility for wireless connection.

If you are running windows XP, look for the wireless icon in the lower right side of your task bar and use it to connect to your preferred network.

Good luck and have a nice day!
