Is the Ryobi impact drill compatible with normal drill bits that are not hex shaped? I got a drill accessory set and many of the drill bits won't stay in the impact drill (obviously). Is there an adaptor (or something) that will allow me to use the "normal" drill bits?
Round bits are not compatible with the Ryobi impact drivers. You need the hex shank "quick connect" bits and accessories. There is an adapter available. it is basically a regular style of keyless drill chuck with the quick connect hex shank that should fit right in to your Impact.

Hello. My DC728 drills keyless chuck took a dive. I had no choice but in removing all of the plastic as well as the 3 jaws and misc spacers. Yes, I did remove the main/lock screw from the shaft arbor, however I cannot remove the chuck body itself.. I have wedged 8'' long screwdriver shafts into the chuck perpendicular to the drill and proceeded to whack the leverage mechanism both counter and clockwise...Which way should I be hitting it? I cannot budge the unit...Does Dewalt use locktite on the threaded arbor shaft? Do you have any other suggestions? I have hit the leverage mechanism so hard in both directions that I can actually get the drills transmission/gears to skip...which I know is not good...I have tried everything but heat... Thanks, Mike
