Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Just did this with my daughter and it worked:

1. Turn PC on.
2. Plug camera cable into Camera.
3. Plug camera cable USB end into computer USB port.
4. Turn on Camera... wait until camera show message 'USB, PC, Pictbridge'.
5. PC should be selected if not select by highlighting and press shutter button.
6. Press 'Shutter' button.
7. Window 'Autoplay' appears on PC. Select 'import' in Autoplay window.
8. Another window will ask you to name your picture folder. Give it a name.
9. The pictures download to the picture folder automatically.
10. Turn the camera off and disconnect cable from camera and from the PC
11. ENJOY!!

USB not recognized

Since you plugged out without safe remove (while many people do this and don't get any problems, it is still HIGHLY unsafe!) so you probably screwed it up. Specially if it was in active state doing a transfer.

Try it on a different PC, if it doesn't work, you should contact your vendor.

Even if you have warranty, i doubt it will come to use because it was "your" mistake of not safe removing.

Try plugging the USB into a different port on your computer.
Try it in another computer.
Try a different USB cable.

Uninstall the unit from Start, control panel, Add Remove Programs.
Turn off computer.
Start computer, place driver disk in drive.
See if the computer will recognizes it and sets it up again....
