Check your door switch as well, but you may want to start by replaceing the start button. You should hear a small click when the button is pushed down.

Sounds like you have bad run windings on your motor. Holding the start button continues to send power to the start windings. When you release it the power should kick over to the run windings. You will need a new motor. _MJ_
No problem at all.The motor has a start and run winding.Your run winding is bad.The reason you have no heat is the run winding has to run to close the contacts on the motor switch.Replace the motor ,both problems solved. Hope this helps Please rate my response :)

this problem sounds like it can only be 1 of 2 problems. the start button or the motor is not going into run winding. i found over the years that the blue wire i believe is burnt at the motor. this can be repaired quite easily .cut the wire and strip it putting a new connector on. if you need to you can buy an assortment at a hardware store. if every thing is good check the start button for burnt wire if ok then you most likely have a bad motor. i'm pretty sure though that a wire is burnt off at the motor

I have whirlpool dryer, when i push the start button it will start but only stay on for part of the drying time. no the start button make noise when push and after keep trying it stop.
