Re: Loss of Wifi Ability

You may need to re-onstall the driver for the wireless driver. Look in the CDS that came with your PC or if you bought a card look for the CD!

Wi-fi was blue screen crashing, acer tech support had me do stuff now i have no wi-fi at all

You might have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:

Download, Install and Run Super Anti-Spyware:

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:
Make sure to select ALL of the "threat categories" when you install or configure Avira.

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs.

No wireless con on my a60

Make sure wireless is on.
Make sure the network is visable or you have the hidden SSID.
Make a connection to the network using the correct encryption method (WPA, WEP, etc.) and correct password.
Make sure wireless access point is connected to the Internet or you will be limited to only accessing systems on the local network.
Good luck!

I'm using fujitsu lifebook s2020 and i have a problem with the wifi is kind of disappeared or can i get it back? thank you

Good Day

The first thing you should check is that you WiFi is on. What I mean with that is that laptops usually have a button to switch on or off WiFi to generally save battery life. If you are sure that WiFi is on (usually the WiFi button's light is on) than check if ou can see a netwok adapter.

If you dont see it, there can be two reasons. 1. Another program which got installed on the laptop has controll over the WiFi and the WiFi will not be controlled my your Operating system. 2. Check the properties of your network place. It might contain the WiFi adapter disabled. Ceck under the properties and ut the tick poxes on "Show if adapter is connected" and "Show if there is a problem".

Last resort is to check under you Device manager (Right click My computer, Manage, Device Manager) and make sure the WiFi adapter's drivers are proberly installed.

Hope this helps

Does my toshiba 1805-s207 have a wifi card

Well, by definition, a WiFi card would be a card that allows you to connect your laptop to other WiFi certified devices, and most laptops have that ability, so my answer would be yes. You can check on the bottom of the laptop, and, usually, there will be a sticker located somewhere that says WiFi.
Although, for some reason, I have a feeling that by WiFi you mean a mobile broadband card, with allows you to have internet access by using cellular towers, for a certain price a month. Usually, if you get a laptop with one of these in it, the retailer will definitely let you know (and probably try to get you to sign into a contract). I know that some people get those to mixed up sometimes (don't know if you did or not), so I wanted to cover all bases.
So, these are the two answers I could come up with.

I have a samsung nc10. The wifi often will not

One general recommendation is that you should go to the Samsung site and check if there are updated drivers for your wireless hardware. Occasionally you may need a software update to resolve a wireless connection issue.

This issue may be due to several issues. First having two bars simply shows the radio signal strength and has nothing to do with your ability to connect to the Internet. It's possible that you are not getting connected due to a security mismatch. If there is security on the router you need to set up your laptop with the same security settings. At the library there may be a password required to connect. Another possible issue is the library may have something called a portal. This requires you to go to a special screen to accept an agreement before connecting to the Internet. This has nothing to do with your antivirus software.

Sounds like one of these problems.

1) The wireless hardware is turned off in the BIOS. Reboot and check to see if there is an entry in the BIOS for the embedded wireless card and if so make sure it is set to ON.

2) The hardware is not recognised because the drivers are not properly installed. Check in DEVICE MANAGER to see if the wireless appears at all, and if it is in an error state. If so, re-install latest drivers from the manufacturer's web site.

3) Other software necessary may be missing. Some machines have wireless manager clients that they need to access the card. Check on the manufacturers' web site for these utilities, and if found, install them and reboot watching for new (different) problems to arise.

4) You could have buggered wireless hardware, but this seems pretty unlikely. Some wireless cards are add-ins and can be removed from the laptop motherboard by accessing them through a door on the bottom of the unit. If that is the case with your machine, power down the unit and remove the wireless card. Check in the hardware manager to make sure no device errors for the card remain, and if they do, remove the hardware by right-clicking on the error device icon and clicking on REMOVE HARDWARE. Then, power down and re-insert the wireless card and reboot and try a clean install.

Good luck...
