Question about Maytag Performa PAV2200

1 Answer

Maytag performa The timer knob will not turn itself. I put the washer on Normal cycle and it agitate like usual but will not change to rinse. I can manually change it to rinse and it will work. This problem is only on the normal and heavy position. Light position works normally. The delicate side also works fine.

Re: maytag performa

Sounds like you may have a bad timer. They can work perfectly in one setting, and not work at all on an other. They can sometimes get a "flat spot" in one area that will stop them from moving or working. Good Luck!!! Jim

Good day,
If you need to wedge the timer to get a normal cycle, then the timer has gone out. Suggest you replace it along with a new knob, spring and clip. The parts house will point out how to install the knob. Was/is a really good washer.

Washer won't act right

Most likely this is a problem with the main cycle knob, if for some reason the knob is not fully pulled
out, it just won't work, only fills with water, and the timer is the responsible one for the draining, but
the timer itself is not at fault, have your main knob selector switch checked.

Agitation issues. Everything else appears/works normally.

I just encountered the same problem. I think the operation of the machine is such that the motor turns one direction for the spin cycle, and the other direction for the agitate cycle. I am replacing my motor, as I think i have a bad winding on the reverse. I will let you know.

Maytag Performa washer Waterlevel/agitator problem

CHECK your stand pipe hasn't fell over (the one the drain hose goes to when emptying)If not,Either the pressure switch is broke or there is a hole or split in the pressure switch rubber hose. This switch stops the water when it reaches required level.
