RE: No Outputs working

Last night I noticed my Wall outlet Cover had fallen off and a loose Video cable was dangling inside the wall near the hot wires. I reached near the wall and could well the Shock. I shutdown the power re put on the Wall Outlet Cover and re attached my HD Cable and my X-Box 360 as well as my DVD player back to the TV. Now nothing seems to work. I get power from the TV and can play my X-Box 360 on Video 5 I believe, but get no sound. Video 1 which is my DVD player Outputs nothing. My Direct TV/HD doesn't show up or have sound on Video 4. I am just not sure as to if the shock could have wrecked a few on my Video IN/OUTS or when I shut up power of and re-booted everything if I might have messed with some of the settings.. Thanks, Ross

Possible video switching ic or menu settings checked menu first then one at a time start removing inputs to see if one is causing a problem and on which input if all are affected after you checked your meun settings ,possibly internal video switching is at fault.

My magnavox crt is about 10+, worked great.Last night, the screen remained black, and sound was static. Tried unplugging, held the power button, ran a new cable line from working tv.No lights in back.

Hi,

I hope I can help. I would first try another outlet.
  1. another power outlet
  2. check the cable from the TV to the wall or cable box
  3. Check the TV Input channel, make sure you go through each source input to verify which tv/video input is the correct one.

My set is plugged into a cable box. the tv will not turn on either manually or with the remote.

Plug the power cord directly into a wall power outlet, and make sure that the standby light is lit (turn it on/off manually to see if anything changes). If there isn't any light, then it's most likely broken.
If the TV works again, being plugged into the power outlet in the wall, then the problem is with the cable box (i bet you figured that out too).

My 32inch lcd tv keeps flickering it started all the sudden

TRY THIS

    • 1 Turn the TV off with the front-mounted power button, not the remote. Unplug the TV's power cord from the wall outlet. Let an hour pass before plugging the cord back into the wall outlet. Turn the TV back on with the front-mounted power button and wait until it has fully restarted. Bring up a TV channel to see if the image being presented on the LCD screen is no longer flickering. A momentary power surge can cause the circuitry inside the LG-brand LCD TV to function erratically.
    • 2 Unplug the video cable from the video connection on the back or side panel of the LG TV. If more than one video cable is connected to the TV, disconnect all of them. Disconnect the other end of the video cable from the video source device that it's attached to -- a DVD or Blu-ray player, or a satellite receiver or cable box. Blow off the connections on the video source device and on the back or side panel of the TV with bursts of compressed air. Reinsert one end of the video cable into the video source device and the other end into the video input that it was connected to. Turn the TV back on with is remote to see if the picture is now free of flickering. A loose or partially connected video cable can cause the LCD TV's screen to flicker when presenting an image.
    • 3 Turn the TV off and unplug its power cord from the wall outlet. Place a power conditioner next to the wall outlet. Plug the power conditioner's power cord into the wall outlet. Plug the TV's power cord into one of the AC sockets on the power conditioner. Turn the power conditioner on. Turn the TV on to see if the picture is now free of flickering. The RF signals in the electric line that the LG TV is drawing power from can cause flicking through interference patterns being generated.

Danby DUF408WE Upright Freezer not working

Does the compressor feel warm to the touch. If it does, it will be proof that the thermostat is calling for cooling and is probably good. For the obvious questions: Is the freezer in an area below 80 degrees F, is the wall outlet in good shape and not hot to the touch, is the freezer plug not blistered around the prongs, is the door gasket against the face all the way around the mating surface on the chasis. If the compressor is hot, listen for a click every 2 to 5 minutes. If the click is present the starter is your last best hope. The click is the compressor trying to start. Without the proper tools you are pretty much up against a wall. One last suggestion is to check for loose wires under the compressor terminal cover. I would suggest you look up the compressor manufacturer for a visual on cover removal. Dont forget to unplug before attempting compressor cover work. I hope you havent tried to put screws through the outside walls of this freezer or damaged the shelves inside. Both are fatal for the freezer and no repair can be made. Good luck.

Grill problems

I would advise not to use the grill or the plug it plugs into before determining what the problem is. It could be the grill cord, or the wall plug.

If you have been in the habit of pulling the cord plug out of the wall by tugging on the cord, then chances are the problem is broken conductors inside of the wire insulation. One way to test this is to attempt plugging the unit into a totally different wall outlet. If the cord and outlet heat up again, chances are the cord needs to be replaced (if possible). If the both do not heat up, then the outlet wiring connections inside of the wall need to be checked.

Bad wiring connections either in the wall, or in the cord, will generate heat, when will then conduct to the other connector. So it is difficult to use heat as the indicator of which connector is bad.

Dryer wallplug heats up

you may have aluminum wiring going from your fuse box to the wall plug (older house) .. if this is the case then you have to have a special wall plug that is approved for aluminum .. if you use a standard wall plug then you will get what you are seeing (it gets hot after a few years) .. the connections work loose and start to get hot .. if you have copper wire then you might also have either loose connections or the springs that make contact to the plug have lost tension .. make sure you turn off the circuit breaker before doing anything inside the wall plug box .. make sure water hasnt damaged things inside the box .. once the box has gotten hot the integrity of the spring contacts cant be trusted .. (they lose their spring force when they get hot) .. so no matter what kind of wiring you have you should replace the wall outlet .. if you have aluminum wire (white looking) then get an outlet that is aluminum certified .. if you have copper wire (orange color) then replace the outlet with one that has a rating of 20 amps .. that should fix your problem.

Too much things is connected thru that wall. The outlet is being use to pull more current that its normal use or that it can handle hence running different ports hot which will cause problems in the near. Somthing will get too much current & blow up !

Recommend that you chose a outlet for the adapter.
