Question about Dell E151FP 15" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Dell 151fp is slow to get going, fine otherwise

5 1/2 year old Dell 151fp works fine once it gets going. The problem is that it takes 5-10 minutes to "warm up" after being turned on.Thescreen remains blank during this time. It sometimes seems to help if you click the mouse or press a key on the keyboard. I hooked up my new Dell 1707fp and it worked fine. I called Geek Squad and they said they've never heard of that problem, I should buy a new one. It also takes several minutes to get going if left on when the computer is turned off.

Dell e193fp goes blank at times

From the description there are bad solder connections on the power supply board and since the monitor is 7 years old there is a good chance some of the capacitors need to be changed.

My HP vs19e monitor takes almost 5 minutes to "wake up". Works fine once running. It never took this long before. Any ideas?

most common problem is bad electrolytic capacitors if unit is a few years old. Take it apart and replace any swollen, ie bulging top of the aluminium can... but may be 'off-value' if not swollen. Any electronics from China will fail within 3 years due to bad electrolytic caps..

Dell SE198WFP 19" LCD won't come out of standby

I went into the BIOS (with F2 during restart) and changed a value -- IIRC it was called something like "power management scheme" -- from the default S3 to the other choice, S1. Now the old Dell XP Dimension 2350 will go into and out of Standby correctly and the new SE198WFP 19" LCD will too.

Dell 2005FPW Monitor Flicker problem

The flickering is most likely the florescent backlight having a hard time starting, Just like in a light fixture, as it gets old, it takes longer to warm up to get full functionality.
If under warranty, contact Dell for a replacement, if not, then when it becomes untenable, replace the monitor. Prices are dropping drastically, an new 20 or 22 In can be bought for about $150 or less

Monitor fades and turns blue

this sounds like a transistor issue concerning the ccfl lamps the power transistors are deteriorating and they will eventually go bad you can have them replaced and that should fix the issue. otherwise I would say have the capacitors that feed the ccfl's may be getting old and need replacement as well, its not something the average customer will want to do but if you have a service center that does electronic repair then that would be bst.
Hope this helps

Dell E228WFP Monitor failure

To me, that's an XP driver issue. If the screen turns on at all, then goes dark during XP boot, that's nearly a ringer for drivers.

Out of range on the Hz? Tried booting in safe mode to see if it loads with standard win drivers? That might work. Reset the monitor to default/standard settings and try safe mode is what I would do. Ramp up the resolution/refresh rate from there.

Dell E173FP - After sometime the screen switches off

Sorry not a solution - but I have started experiencing the exact same problem over the last month although sometimes, on switching on again, it will run for 10-15 minutes before the problem re-emerges. Initially I put it down to the v. hot weather in July but it still continues. So I would also appreciate any solutions!
