Re: black decker drill

If the problem is with very small bits 1/16" for example, the chuck could be defective in either design or manufacture. I have had this problem with a cordless model FS1800D. Waiting on a replacement chuck.

The chuck wont tighten

The outer sheath of the chuck turns a thread on the back of the jaws in the chuck and it it is not tightening correctly then the jaw threads have been broken/cracked or the jaws have been stressed out of alignment and are not longer closing in a parallel manner. Best replace the chuck as they are generally not repairable.

How do you get the bit out of the Craftsman 19.2? I just want to change it for a different bit.

I'm assuming this is a drill/driver but you did not indicate a model. If it's a keyless chuck, and most are, put the drill in reverse, hold the chuck housing near the body of the drill firmly and pull the trigger. the chuck jaws will open wide enough to remove the old bit and insert new one. To tighten, switch the drill into forward gear, hold the chuck and pull the trigger until the bit is firmly held in the jaws.

Battery charger for black decker firestorm drill 14.4 volts

This should be the correct part for your drill, but since you didn't provide a model number, I can't be absolutely certain.
Follow this link:
Have a look at this manual and see if your drill is the same.,CD140S%20DRILL.pdf
If not, check the home page of the dewalt service center site and navigate to the correct site by inputting your model number.
I hope this helps! If so, please take a second to rate this post.
