A few easy things to try. First off, have you power cycled the unit since checking for a paper jam? Often that will clear false errors. If not, look for the sensors. They should be somewhere along the paper path, and consist of a plastic lever that will be pushed down as the paper moves past them. Usually these levers have springs attached - if the spring comes off, it will register a paper jam. You'll probably have to take off some of the housing to get to them. I'm not sure this will help much, but since I found it I'll post it. The user's manual: If the sensor needs replaced (most often due to something simple like a piece of plastic breaking on it), you can order new sensor PCB assemblies (sensor and its small control board) here: They also sell a parts manual, but it's a bit pricey.

Canon DR9080c - getting error code P00 which means paper jam in the scanner but there is no paper in there & I have cleaned all the sensors! What else could this be?

This is a common problem in 9080C. When the top cover is closed, the sensor sends light and it is reflected thro the black cover in the bottom. Then the scanner assumes the cover is closed. Any obstruction is treated as P00 error. You will notice three small oval & round shaped clear plastic. Clean them with a brush and ensure the edges are clean. Light goes thru one side and come thro the other, which is sensed by the unit placed in the top cover.

Canon error numbers are logical! Error starting with 'P' is paper related. If there is already soem paper inside the scanner while inititalising, u will get this error. Check for shreds of paper in the paper path. (Error starting with 'C' is Cover and 'E' isn Engineer reqd)

Hi have a p00 error on a canon 7580 scanner does anyone know what this is?

The P00 is a paper jam code .

Check if there is any small bit of paper stuck in any of the sensors. Remove the rubber rollers, clean and refit them.

Hope this helps you.
