You will not be able to split them, but they do make a HDMI Switcher, allowing you to use your Xbox 360 as number one and your PC as number 2, w you cannot mix both at the same time.
Connection the monitor depends on the connections you have out of your Toshiba laptop.
The monitor has both VGA and DVI.
If the Toshiba has a VGA out, all you need is a VGA cable available online, computer or electronics store.
If the Toshiba has an HDMI out, you can connect it to the DVI on the monitor with an HDMI cable and an HDMI to DVI Adapter.
You can also use USB out with either a VGA converter or a DVI converter (go with DVI for the better picture). Converters can be found online at Amazon, you may also need a standard male to male DVI cable to use with the converter.
If you see a no signal message, then it means that the signal output format of the PS3 does not match . It happens if you have previous used it on another tv and now connected it to a different tv. To resolve this, turn off the PS3 . Press and hold the power button on the PS3 till you hear three BEEPS. The PS3 should automatically detect the tv's resolution and the initial setup screen should appear. After that you should just follow on-screen instructions to set it up.
HDMI and DVI are both digital signals, therefore if you used DVI - DVI it would be the same as HDMI - HDMI.
If you really want to use HDMI - HDMI you could purchase a DVI - HDMI adaptor for your graphics card. Contact your favorite computer store.
You may use an HDMI / DVI cable to connect to your computer. Next if you have windows 7 hold your windows key and hit the letter "P" (for projector) this will allow you to bring on the multi-montior feature on your computer. Make sure to select the option that says EXTEND. Please note that when connecting a DVI device you must use the HDMI IN1 (dvi) jack on the back of your TV. you cannot use HDMI In 2.
1. Turn off your TV and all connected equipment. 2. Connect an HDMI/DVI cable or DI-HDMI adapter between the HDMI in 1 (dvi) jack on the back of your TV and DVI OUT jack on the DVI device. 3. Connect an audio cable between the DVI audio IN jacks on the back of your tv and the DVI audio jack on the dvi device. turn on the tv then turn on the dvi device.
Hi Jatinder Kumar ,
Yes you can connect your computer output to lcd tv through dvi-hdmi cable or vga-hdmi cable.
1. Connect to HDMI (DVI) : just plug in HDMI (DVI) out of PC or laptop to HDMI or DVI TV. Than select source from HDMI.
2. Connect to PC : Plug D sub to TV, select PC in.
Your projection TV has HDMI input so you would need to either run an HDMI-HDMI cable from an HDMI output on your computer or, more likely, a DVI-HDMI cable from the DVI output on teh computer to the HDMI input on the TV. If ycou can'T find a DVI-HDMI cable note that you can also buy DVI/HDMI adapters for one end of an HDMI-HDMI cable.
Note that DVI is HDMI minus the sound so if you do run DMI to HDMI you'll also need to route the sound to your TV or other amplifier.
If you only have a VGA output on your computer then you will not be able to easily run this to your TV as VGA is an anologue signal while DVI and HDMI are digital. To do this you'd need a converter.
Hope this helps. If so then please rate my advice.
What problem are you having? The connection should be fairly straight forward depending on your computer's video out. You can use a VGA cable, DVI to HDMI (check your graphics card manual for single link or dual link on the DVI side), or component video (even S-video). If you have HDMI out on the video card, use an HDMI cable. If you want to connect to the TV's speakers, you need at least an 3.5 mm audio cable (or 3.5 mm to RCA audio).
The DVI cable can be either a DVI to HDMI cable or DVI to DVI or HDMI to HDMI with a DVI to HDMI adapter at one or the other end.
I hope this helps.
Cindy Wells (you will need to go through the input modes to find the signal. Some TVs need to be on (with no signal) before the computer is turned on.)
If the TV has a VGA connector then use a VGA to VGA cable from your laptop as most laptops have a VGA output. Otherwise use one of the other combinations that work HDMI to DVI or HDMI to HDMI..
