Back wall ice buildup, fridge not cooling but freezer is fine other than ice. Back wall of refrigerator squishes with sound of water behind it. Have had it unplugged for 24 hours, ice gone.

Anytime you have ice buildup in back of freezer it indicates that the auto defrost mechanism is not working. Check the defrost timer, heater element, defrost thermostat for proper operation.

The freezer works great, but the refrigerator isn't cooling properly as of yesterday

Check the vents coming into the frig from the freezer and with the fan in the freezer blowing feel if there is any air blowing into the frig., if not then check for ice buildup in the freezer. sometimes the ice will block the fan and or vents. Defrost if there is frost and ice buildup.

Refrigerator side doesn't keep things cold, just cool, despite having it on the coldest setting and the cold vent open between the freezer. The freezer is working fine.

Look on the back wall of the freezer for a ice buildup. If there is ice you have a defrost problem. The defrost timer is in the fresh food section inside the control panel. The defrost heater and defrost thermostat are behind the freezer back panel inside the freezer.
Also check the freezer fan. If there is no ice buildup in the freezer the freezer fan motor could be bad.
